If I may, make a suggestion, because I've played with my SC palette and made it work for me beautifully and have created many looks! Try placing the pigment where you want the most pigment, for example your outer corner with one of the darker colors...and lightly tap the pigment in place, like you would a foiled shadow! And then with a clean blending brush, lightly blend the outer edge, and then go back and tap the pigment back in the area where the color may have blended away! It's mainly about placement and pressure with this palette and learning which colors work best with each other! It does take a learning curve, but I believe this palette was meant to inspire and bring out your inner artist! Should they have marketed it differently? Absolutely! But I do love my SC palette and use it often! I hope this technique will help some of you! I love you Casey and you are my favorite KZbinr...you are so real and honest and you're just not like everyone else! You're like that talented BFF that helps all your BFF's with makeup and just chit Chat and hang out and I appreciate that and respect that so much! Keep doing you, cause you are perfect! 😘💯

Nikki Kreitzer I was thinking the same thing. I saw some videos where there was minimal blending and the results were awesome.

Nikki Kreitzer I love Casey but, I would never put an orange, muted green, and a deep purple on my outer corner and crease. They just muddy together.
@jupiter66287 жыл бұрын
Nikki Kreitzer for the price, it should NOT take that much work with it. i had even tried this but this method did not work for me.
@jupiter66287 жыл бұрын
Marissa Greg the muddiness isn't the problem, it's the way the formula does not allow the product to blend correctly. it isn't user error, it's formulation error. check out the pinned comment on Beauty News' video over Subculture.

Caitlin Morrison you should check out Stephanie Nicole's review on the palette. She really goes into depth about "formulation"

SO glad you decided to give products another try, especially the subculture palette. A lot of people seem to take one look at things and decide they don't like them, without actually testing them out.
@Jay.Rivera7 жыл бұрын
Instead of immediately blending out your concealer, you should try letting it set slightly for a minute or so. Jackie Aina is the queen of doing this and I do this as well and it works great with many formulas. Blending as soon as you apply with some products, especially when using a sponge to do so, it will not always provide maximum coverage. Also, if you use a damp sponge like a beauty blender & then press and roll your powder into the skin -- that will further and more solidly set your makeup in addition to minimize the appearance of pores.

Casey! Can you try out the new BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation by Bare Minerals. It has 5 stars on Sephora and I'm really curious to see how it works for oily skin. Much love 🌹 by the way - I like this video idea! hopefully you do more
@thefudge01017 жыл бұрын
Hi, I know I'm not Casey but I just started using it and it really is wonderful. I have very oily skin and it usually stays most of my work day without power, which is atypical for me. And the color range is really good. Just my two cents!
@shelbylynn47437 жыл бұрын
Tamara Ramirez Not Casey either obviously 💁🏻, but I LOVE that foundation. I didn't know it was extremely new when I picked it up from Ulta. I have the worst luck with foundations not sticking to my skin even with primer. That foundation stays all day and I even wore it to my brother's wedding when it was 106° outside. I didn't have to touch up at all.
@janinepaul82407 жыл бұрын
Kimberly Doolittle oh man!! You just got me semi hopeful!! Haha I get sooo oily. Do U mind sharing a few other foundations u like, just trying to get an idea if we go for similar stuff. I'll probably buy it anyway since I'm makeup fantatic. The brush in the ad looks sooo nice!
@thefudge01017 жыл бұрын
I find that a sponge/beauty blender works the best with Barepro Performance Wear, and I don't normally use sponges. It sets really quickly so I think the dampness of a makeup sponge makes it more workable than a brush, just an fyi! I also like Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous, because at least on me, it stays really well. I don't like the color range though because its extremely pink, and I have very neutral tones in my skin. Other than that, I have really struggled in the foundation department so I'm still looking around! But Barepro Performance Wear is genuinely my favorite that I have tried thus far.

My biggest question about the shades in the Subculture palette is... if you had every colour eyeshadow available to you, would you really combine the colours people are throwing together when using this palette? I mean the shades are nice but there's not a great cohesiveness to them to my eyes. Even if it was the most amazingly usable formula ever made, I keep seeing the same looks that use quite clashing colours because that's all you can work with, especially when it comes to the deep outer v shades. I guess my question is-Is it really very wearable?
@maggiekarabel1237 жыл бұрын
Marni Zavaleta The colors really don't appeal to me. They look kind of 70s, the color scheme of someone's living room in 1975.
@torigross70817 жыл бұрын
Marni Zavaleta I agree in some ways like you can get some cohesive looks with this but yeah rowdy as the deep shade doesnt go with the palette at all and I think it muddies it. But most people have a deep brown or black they could use instead I dont think its a big deal but to each their own
@marnizavaleta7 жыл бұрын
Maggie Karabel lol... i hadn't thought of it like that & I was a 70's baby! I see why it'd strike you that way but I think of 70's makeup differently with lots of brights & glitter. Think Abba & Diana Ross' solo style. :}

Marni Zavaleta that's what I thought too. When I saw the first pictures of the subculture palette I was so confused by the color scheme. it doesn't make sense together at all it doesn't blend. Lol

Pressing sadly isn't the only problem with Subculture. they won't blend because they don't have the proper binding agents (which allow pigments to hold to each other and skin evenly) in the formula. i'm not a professional when it comes to formulation, but i saw this topic as a pinned comment on someone's review. i can't remember who, if i find them i will edit this comment so everyone else can read it too.x (if any of you know before i edit it, let me know!) All of my morphe palettes blend after like going over them 2-3 times I swear lol. I'm not paying so much money on only 14 shades that don't blend and oxidize when I can pay 38 for the JH palette that I am in love with. It just blends. Or when I spent 22 on my 35O. That blends. Or $17 for the 25A. My favorite palette. Hell, my NYX palette from Ulta that was free for my birthday blends lol
@alexandrasjosten7 жыл бұрын
Chelsea Thompson i feel like she might be blending too much... they apply best packed on so I just like to tap my brush in, blend the crease and then pack color on below that and most often I don't have an issues with it ☺

alexandrasjosten I've found that works best for me too! I haven't really had any problems with it and didn't understand the issues when I first started seeing them! I think it works best packing the product on and not using other colors to assist in blending because that's when it starts to get muddy and become an issue.

Hi Casey! So this sounds like a joke and kinda funny but it's a great hack to not let lip products get on your teeth through out the day. I promise I am not trying to make you do a weird thing, it really works! Lol. So put your finger in your mouth and close your mouth around the finger and pull your finger out. It takes the product off the inner lip so it doesn't get on your teeth. I do realize this sounds like something someone would tell you to do so they could see you make a fool of your self but I PROMISE it works! And of course have clean hands when doing this lol Also I love your videos I have super red skin and some hormonal cystic acne on my chin and jaw line and I love that your skin isnt "perfect" and you show how easy it is to cover up. And I have a lot of texture so you always help me figure out what is good or not. I bought the Sephora foundation stick and had the exact same problems! I returned it the day after I got it in the mail.

So the reason we use transition colours is because if we go in with a dark shade off the bat then we won't be able to blend right? Well with this palette the dark shades do blend so start with the dark shades and blend out with the lighter shades. This palette is super innovative but there were definitely bad batches so if working backwards doesn't work get you money back or a new palette. Cheers 💖

You made that palette work. Your eye look is beautiful!

What makes me not what this palette at all is the fact that it shouldn't have to come with instructions. Do this, don't do that..... what's the purpose of releasing something like this? I love the colors but I can see from the other side of the continent how patchy it is (plus how the colors change at times)

I feel like you shouldn't have to TRY that hard with the ABH palette. I get the effort to make it work though, I hate accepting that something was a waste of money too

Yes about the JCat Primer! I was an oil slick when I tried it. And it felt oily on my skin when I applied it. There is nothing matte or mattifying about it.

casey don't believe that bs norvina is saying for damage control. the palettes suck. and they don't wanna admit it.

I love how you're trying new type of videos! Gives your channel such a fresh and creative vibe (not that it didn't have it before lol) ❤ it's just nice as a viewer to see a KZbinr try new things and not stick to basic vids

so... she originally didn't like the bronzer only because she doesn't like the packaging....?? what ever happened to buying a product because its good, not for the looks? so stupid.

Sometimes the packaging makes it hard to work with which can just make it not worth it

I really like my pallet . For me it blends very easy and I had a great time working with the green colors . I am not a makeup artist and I can still create beautiful looks

Have you every written on top of white board marker with white board marker? I feel like; the more you go in to blend the patchier it looks. Love you for giving it another opportunity though! I've learned to love a lot of products after the second chances

Casey I love how you tried the products once last time... This is what I do before tossing products.

I love the idea of giving things another chance if you're not sure about them.
