I'm sure TJ is good in his eyes but he doesn't show remorse for his actions/words and people are envy for this - that's a heel. And to use some WWE analogy - Roman Reigns was pushed as a face for many years but around half of the fans HATED his character. WWE viewed him as a face but their fans apparently no and Roman was de facto heel.
