I didn't go to college either. I was married at 22 and pregnant right before our 1st anniversary. Luckily, my husband made enough money for me to be able to be a stay at home mom. That's what I felt that I was meant to be and I wouldn't change it for anything! College isn't for everyone and doesn't mean the person can't make money by working hard!

Being a college grad and all, working my butt off for that piece of paper to only make $40,000 a year is degrading in itself. I love my job I love what I do but it’s not worth it to go to college anymore. I made more at jobs that didn’t need a college degree than what I’m making using it. Thank the Lord I’m not in debt due to student loans, but it’s rough. I’m barely surviving.

I did get a job in banking and worked for 15yrs doing clerical type work however not much room for advancement. My husband worked in a factory as a hourly worker and yes, he made about $70,000yr because of overtime hrs not his regular salary however, I convinced him to go to college pt time while he was working and get his degree in management. The company paid tuition reimbursement so there was no student loan debt, and when he graduated he was promoted in the company. Over the yrs he has advanced and gotten even better jobs with other companies, and makes great money. It was the best decision long term for our family advancing his education.

Definitely Evie's choice. But I, personally, LOVED college. In fact, I stayed an extra year to get a Master's degree too. Best years of my life. Learned so much and met so many amazing people! If only I could go back in time and relive those wonderful years again, lol.

Becoming a teenager is really hard and they're just trying to navigate the world as an adult. It makes it a lot easier when they figure out that their parents are patient and understanding, like you guys are! My mom was not very understanding and could be very abusive. That caused be to rebel more. So, we did the opposite with our son and he knows, it doesn't matter what it is, that he can come to us!

You can ALWAYS go back to college later. I was in college at age 21, then I got very ill and had to drop out. I did go back in my 30's and graduated with my nursing degree and got a fantastic job!! I'm retired now.

My son has Asperger's and it causes him to have depth perception issues. So, the backup camera really helped him with the 3 different types of parking he had to do, when he was doing the driving part, for his license.

This is why I appreciate the In-n-Out number ticket service in my country offices (like banks, postal offices, immigration offices and everywhere else that has long lines like DMV and most medical centers) because I still remember the way people would be waiting in lines and there’s always THE ONE person that starts some drama and five minutes later the entire queue has tried their chance at a verbal fight, a fist fight, dramatic behavior and just cussing in the corner and then tossed few teens with zero manners in the mix and a couple of screaming babies 😂 Yes the ticket system still makes you wait in line but there’s no more asking the rest of us which one’s the last person or trying to negotiate for your place because someone ALWAYS have some kind of emergency to rush back to. But most fun was getting to start a like at 7am at the immigration office to get ID card (at that moment government decided IDs gonna be our passport so most of country ran to immigration office almost camping by their door to get that one, it’s announced that it’s back to before due to some unexpected issues but I spent three days in an office waiting line last year) and that was fun as some other people had started at 5 or 6am and the office opened only at 9:30am and me and my friend had a lot of fun having snacks while other woman had an entire ramen meal on the curb after we finished our scones 😂 Good luck next time if you can’t get a proper appointment! It’s also okay not going to a college or university. My best friend’s eldest daughter hadn’t even graduated regular school but her brain just has this amazing ability to soak up information and knowledge and she’s amazing at being cashier and she actually cares about the job regardless of boring parts and hard stuff. I lowkey wish for her ability to ease into that type of jobs (I only have standard education requirements done and one small accounting software class) but I’m so severely laden by social anxiety and stage fright as well as language barriers (basically I don’t speak a language that’s second here but my second language is English and I’m learning Spanish but here it doesn’t matter, also I don’t have driver’s license which for some reason seems super hard and expensive to get and I don’t have anyone teaching me to drive so that’s another hurdle in my journey) and just loosing a job I loved after near decade has been hard but I still hope one day my small dreams would come true and I could finally do a job that’s my actual passion and hobby so I wouldn’t need to worry about working and hating it (for me having this family like colleagues and friendly relationships at work is crucial as I’m neurodivergent and very lightly on autistic spectrum with ADD and I always struggle at being with more than two people around me as I’m socially anxious and it’s hard) and while money has always been struggle hence never pursuing higher education in the first place it’s also other things and while I probably could’ve attempted something while working i saw a colleague already struggling and also I’d want to study so many things and probably covid could’ve helped as online learning is my new way to go I still suck at math which is in the base of my study subjects that I would want to study so for the time being it’s KZbin teaching me things (like doing my nails and experimenting with photography and trying my hand at art and some other DIY stuff and eventually telling me all about video making and ghost hunting and writing- yes I do have way too many hobbies but those are things I live for that brings me life and joy, all of those little passions I’ve been wanting to do for two decades and now I can so it’s more about making most hobbies out of my time than truly jobseeking at the moment as this is when creativity hits the hardest and most powerful) I do believe some online courses are a good alternative for college and it’s also good for learning new skills. I know people that pursue jobs first and later decide for university or something else entirely. So there’s absolutely nothing wrong. Even more do believe that it’s all about a paper and looking at the government here I can say most of them have bought that paper for title as some seem like they never studied past middle school which is weird for someone that has struggled with education financially yet tried to soak up every bit of information and knowledge and analyzed everything to see what’s real and what’s just a media bubble or misinformation from people who only want drama

I can’t speak for Florida, but here in Arizona all of our DMV locations were closed for walk-ins for almost 2 years. So when they finally opened up they got super backed up. My friends mom works for the DMV. She said they were nowhere close to being prepared for what they went through. The first week they were back the computers crashed about a dozen times. She knows I have some computer skills so she called me and asked if I could talk her through fixing hers. It was insane.

Teenagers will find a way. Parents can not control every aspect of their teen's life. Evie is also an adult so her parents can't control every minute of her life anymore. All parents can do is teach their kids how to be safe
