Today is such a sad day! Evie is so devastated! She has to say goodbye to cheer! We get Evie's MRI results back today, we consult with the doctor and it's so bad she has to say goodbye to cheer. But that's not the only thing that happened today! We also go to Crumbl and do a taste test and weekly cookie review! Evie and Yami work out at the gym and make coffee together, they are so cute!

I don’t know if you will see this but I’m about to be 17 years old and I’ve done cheer for the last 6 years I absolutely love it. Last season I had horrible hip and back pain and finally told myself and talked to my coach that I needed to take a break. It turns out I needed severe hip surgery. I’m currently in the hospital and it hurts my heart to see what Evie is going through because I’ve been through the same emotional struggle. Just tell her that she has to listen to her body because that’s something I struggled doing at times and payed the price for it. Let her know that she can get through it!❤️

I'm so glad you brought up that you use to be a nurse. So many people nowadays are demanding for little to no reason. Telling them that you've been in their shoes and are just mad that it's lost can definitely help. I just hope Evie has a fast and healthy recovery 🙏 ❤️

I like how Kendal could relate to the nurses in her past experience! I liked how she wasn't negative or rude about it. Her approach was the right way. That's how you go about doing it when needing answers. I hope Evie feels better about her ankle, and she heals and recovers soon to get back to doing what she loves! I hope Sebi gets through all of the work being done on his mouth well! I also loved the clip of the talk that Kendal was giving Evie!

Kendal, I just wanna say good job on advocating for Evie, as a young adult I still find it so hard to advocate for myself. I hope Evie gets better soon, I’ve been having to wear wrist brace since September, pretty much full time and it’s not easy. I also wish Sebi well on his dental journey!

My second post of today. I’ve not been able to get sweet Evie off my mind. Please relay to her that prayers are being lifted up on her behalf and I know God will provide her with everything she needs over the next few weeks. And little Sebi, such a rock star! Your children are very special people. Nice job!!

My heart goes out E and also to you Kendall. As one cheer mom to another, I completely know how you feel about watching without your daughter being involved. It is sooo hard to sit there and watch, but we have to do it for the gym. I hope and pray that she will heal quickly and be able to make it to the next comp. People don't understand what it does to these girls when they can't be out on that mat where they belong!! Love you guys and I will be cheering you on E to heal quickly and be able to be back out where you absolutely belong!!!

I've been listening to you'll since 2017. Evie has done a lot of cheer. I'm so sorry. Tell her, it'll be ok, listen to your body and your mind. I've never done cheer, but I'm blind so I've struggled with being taken advantage of. I now know I have to listen to myself, and it's ok.

@@bobs1356 Yes, I know it was an injury, which can be difficult for kids having to deal with the pain and hospital test(s), as well as being unable to participate in a sport they love. I taught and worked with kids for many years. It doesn’t have to be a serious injury or illness for one to show compassion to others.

Evie, I completely understand what you are going through. I have gone through this several times. I have had to sit out several seasons of sports because of ankle problems. I know it sucks but you will get through it. I know the boot may not be comfortable but wear it. If you have physical therapy exercises do them. Otherwise google some simple ankle strengthening exercises to help strengths those ligament and muscles in the ankle. One you are better and return to cheer I would suggest wearing ankle braces or tape your ankles to help stabilize the ankles. I learned the hard way by not wearing my boot and doing exercises and my ankles continued to weaken. I ended up tearing the 3 major ligaments in both ankles and had to have surgery on both ankles and an going on surgery #3 to get them fixed. You got this. Stay strong and you will get through it! ❤☺️

I know first hand as a parent how difficult Evie’s situation is. My daughter started playing soccer when she was 4 years ago old. During her soccer career she competed at the highest level for girls’ soccer, winning several state, regional, and national championships. She played high school soccer in addition to her club soccer, and she was selected to be on the Olympic Development Team. When she was 16, she broke her L5 vertebrae on both sides of her spinal column. Fast forward, 6 months later she was back on the soccer field! During that six months, she discovered other gifts and talents that God gave her that she may not have ever realized. Now, as an adult she’s using those gifts and talents helping the quality of life for others. I encourage Evie to use this time to do the same. It’s how we react to adversity that defines our character. May God provide comfort and wisdom to Evie during this time. Keep smiling, young lady.

I tore ligaments in my ankle a few years ago in Netball it was not a good injury, I was told it’s faster to heal from a broken ankle. One thing I have leant is that I always need to strap my ankle now for support so Evie may find it’s best for her to do this when she goes back to cheer for extra support as it’s easy to roll it now

My heart hurts for you both! My daughter is a jr this year and due to to many concussions her Jr yr is the 1st year of basketball she has missed after playing travel ball and schoolball since 3rd grade! It's so hard not seeing her do what she has loved her entire life. You can see a tiny piece of her is missing especially since basketball is now in full swing. It's hard enough to decide on you own you have to give up what's been ur life but it's even harder when your TOLD you have to give up!!! Maybe this is just a sign from above that its Evies time to not only watch all the young kiddos from the sideline but to teach them just as she has learned. So many of those kiddos look up to her!!

I hope Evie heals fast! As for Crumbl, the few times a year I get Crumbl for myself and family, we only order the flavors we think we will like, otherwise for us it's just wasting money. The Apple Pie this week is really tasty. It's looks just like a mini apple pie with little apple chunks on top. My favorite this week is definitely the pumpkin one. It's so soft! Sadly my hazelnut sea salt had no salt flavor at all so mine just tasted like a plain cookie with some chocolate sauce on top.

Happy to hear "young and healthy' from the doctor. I am not trying to criticize parenting skills, we don't see every minute of what happens in their lives. I am sure their doctors said go ahead, or lets wait and see before getting an MRI. I am simply responding as a martial arts instructor responsible for students. More for people watching and reading with kids in any sport who tell their parents they can still train, its not that bad. I don't trust MD's for injuries, nor x-rays for any kind for joint / soft tissue pain. From my experience with about every injury that can happen. I learned the hard way not to push through injurie's, I pushed through injuries and wound up 100 times worse including my back, my MD said go ahead just be careful. I wound up waking up, my right leg paralyzed in agony, on a Christmas morning, they had to put me on a tank of Nitrous oxide just to get me onto the gurney. It took months before I could start therapy, and well over a year before I could start normal activity again. The neurologist told me had I stopped completely it may have been a only a few weeks recovery. If a student is injured I never listen to an MD who says lets wait and see. If a child is in the slightest discomfort I send them to the side to watch, I don't let anyone work through any kind of pain, period, even if the MD says its OK. If it lasts more than a day, back to the doctor, if a doctor sends them back without a guaranteed diagnostic, I refuse to let them train until they feel absolutely no pain. If it still goes on, or reoccurs, I tell them to request an MRI. I started training gymnastics in grade school, then weight lifting, martial arts at around 12. football, hockey, I saw too many kids wind up with long term of permanent injuries from repetitive impact and strain, because an instructor or coach let them, or told them to 'work through the pain' "For the team" Any kind of pain is not normal, even the slightest twinge is the body saying stop you are doing something wrong, if you feel that pain twice its saying stop it, I am injured let me heal. With kids especially if it was just a little twist or something they are fine the next day, no pain. If there is pain the next day it is an injury, and what ever activity created it must stop completely until it is completely healed with zero pain. Not saying crawl in bed and stay there, just do not do the activity that brought it on, or any activity that aggravates it. It is different with a major injury and physical therapy stretching, where you have to endure discomfort as the body regains movement and strength. Ignoring pain is what results in that major injury. More than one parent has told me they know what's best for their child, especially when they are wining trophies, or lord forbid getting nagged to go to class, they can put up with the pain. I tell them fine, just not under my supervision, in my Dojo.

I am so Sorry 😞 Evie. A messed up ankle is NO fun! Advice for the boot? Make sure it fits snuggly around your ankle..the space they give your ankle in the boot is wide and if you have a thinner foot like me ... if you pad your ankle you will save yourself weeks of healing! UNFORTUNATELY I had to learn this the hard way. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Hi I have a question. If your girls are getting so many injuries. And this cheering is comp. Is this a benefit to there life in the future. Does it get them into a college or get them great jobs in the lives after college or even high school. Don’t you think that all the 😅juries will cause them more pain later in life.?

Injuries are a part of every single sport. We aren’t going to make our kids live in a bubble and read books for fun. If they want out, they can choose to leave.

If you do skiing, if you do any sports, such as horseback, riding or skiing, or anything injury prone is all part of it

The lessons they learn from cheer will benefit the kids greatly as an adult. Learning how to cope with injuries and setbacks in cheer will prepare the kids for dealing with setbacks and disappointments in their adulthood (being turned down for a job, a devastating illness, and hardships for example). Also, learning how to work as a team and work with different personalities the way they have to in cheer will benefit the kids in any they job they end up working. The kids can always quit cheer if they lose their passion, but the character and life skills they learn in the sport will help them far beyond the sport.

I am feeling with evie so much. I am injured as well ans missing states competition. Rn we got a flyer who has never done cheer in her life doing stunts as a flyer on a senior lv. 3 team. No need to say that it isn’t working. If we don’t qualify for regionals I will be soooo upset. Also we only have 6 more practices and the routine isn’t even finished and stunts are dropping constantly. It is so hard to watch your team. Especially when you want to compete so badly. I completely get it. I hope she gets better soon ❤
