I'm sorry but Amy was the one in the wrong there, and it's unexcusable what she did. She's the one who started to insult Wil out of nowhere, and Sheldon was perfectly happy with how Wil had done the show. It was just Amy's complaints, which I don't even know why she was so adamant about, since it's Sheldon's show and she was just helping him film. If I was Sheldon, I would have been the first one to tell Amy off at that moment. I agree with standing by your partner, but you also can't let them be completely unreasonable
@samnabring1286 Жыл бұрын
I agree with your statement regrind that first episode, HOWEVER Amy was 100% the instigator, and Will was just standing up for himself. Also I've never really like how Amy was pushing for Sheldon to say something AS IT WAS HAPPENING. Amy said something to Will, Will clapped and all of the sudden Amy turns to Sheldon with "You gonna let him talk to me like that"? I dunno, is he gonna let YOU talk like that to Will?
@spangelicious837 Жыл бұрын
I think the better approach would have been to pull Amy aside and ask her to be nice to your friend who is doing you both a favor and then you can "save it in editing". Which allows things to proceed and nothing actually needs to be saved. But then later also find out why she was so nitpicky. Is she insecure about her directing abilities? Is she jealous about not being on camera and having someone else costar with Sheldon? But asking Sheldon to do any of that is a bit beyond his abilities too. 🤭 Penny said ILU to Leonard! 🥰 And OMG Bernie does not mess around. You want to stay on her good side. 🤣🤣

You know, for Sheldon's little prank on Howard and Raj to have worked, they would have had to have actually believed he was capable of making a wormhole generator in the first place. It's one of those little things that proves, that yes, he is very smart, and Howard and Raj know it.
@2bleachfans Жыл бұрын
Amy was being rude 100% in the wrong being rude and controlling. I also don't believe you should ignore your own opinions to agree with your SO. If it was a stranger vs your SO i agree you defend your SO out of principle. But if your friend is having a argument with your SO I would side with the person I believe to be right. Your thoughts on talking with your SO about it later would still result in a fight just not between your friend and your SO but between you and your SO, also if your friend found out they would either start a fight with you or look down on you. Sheldon did the right thing especially since Amy dragged him into the fight, Sheldon wasn't taking sides and didn't want to take sides, It's one thing if you want to stand up for your friend or SO but if someone drags you into the argument I would ignore the relationships and go with my beliefs. Your idea of siding with your SO would only work if you yourself stand up for them not when they drag you into the middle.
@kilik85011 Жыл бұрын
Ordinarily, I would agree with you on the "siding with your partner" view. However, Amy was being unnecessarily rude to Will for no reason whatsoever. In this case, praise in public and chastise in private. He should've asked Will not to talk to Amy like that, then pulled Amy aside and told her to stop being rude as well. In this scenario, she caused the problem. You should side with your partner, but you should also be able to recognize and point out when your partner's in the wrong. Don't sacrifice your friends because you can't see when your partner's being a toolbag.

Actually I'm pretty sure they'd broken up some time ago before this. They didn't date too terribly long, and their relationship began early in the series, Like maybe in the second or third season I think. Just looked it up and they broke up in 2009. This season was in 2012. It actually impresses me more, and surprises me, at how wel they can convey such great romantic chemistry after they'd had a relationship and broken up.

They were broken up by this point, but it’s clear they did so on good terms. If you listen to them in interviews (like the DVD extras), it sounds like whenever they had to a big or serious scene, they almost always nailed it on the first take. I feel like you can have toxic relationships and they'll deliberately drive a wedge between friends to isolate the partner, so I don't believe it's one size fits all when it comes to siding with the partner. If the partner is disrespectful to a friend then it's fair to side with the friend. If someone always sides with the partner and the partner is toxic, then the person can and will lose all their friends and end up isolated. I've been in one of those relationships and did the stupid thing of siding with my partner. So I don't think that Sheldon should automatically side with Amy when she was clearly being picky and overly rude for her own benefit.

This was before Toy Story.) (The original isn’t on Disney+ yet). Disney’s “Indiana Jones 2: The Temple of Doom” (This movie was before Disney bought LucasFilms (I think?), and this movie helped create the PG-13 rating. Hence why it’s by far the darkest Indiana Jones movie, and almost got an R rating. Both Spielberg and Lucas were both going through a divorce and/or break-up, so they were both in a bad mood when they made this.).

Honestly, I feel like the 43 episode would've been better if they actually never showed what Sheldon was doing in that room and left it ambiguous. For 2 reasons. 1. While the hacky sack thing is fun, it doesn't compare to the infinite possible other things an audience member could come up with. And 2. I like the idea that Sheldon does genuinely need a period of every day to switch off and recharge, because being him must actually be really exhausting.

@ItsTotallyCody Жыл бұрын
You must have missed the part where I said “stick up for them in that moment and discuss it with them afterwards” it’s not unhealthy to stand up for your partner and then discuss it with them later as to how they could have approached the situation better. What’s unhealthy is when you invalidate people’s feelings regardless of who’s in the wrong in your opinion. And don’t like your own comment it’s wildly narcissistic
@xoler2167 Жыл бұрын
While Sheldon didn’t handle the situation well, Amy was 1000% the enabler and Will was fully justified to be frustrated. What Sheldon should’ve done was take both people to the side and talk to them individually and tell Amy her behavior was wrong and tell Will his response wasn’t appropriate
@MrSlothJunior Жыл бұрын
@@ItsTotallyCody Amy wasn't mistreated in that situation. She was the one instigating the issue. Will was the one who was mistreated. Blindly taking the offender's side, invalidates the feelings of the victim. I would call that unhealthy too. Also, it IS unhealthy to stand up for your partner, if you yourself disagree both with the way they are acting and the reason for why they are acting that way. It is dishonest and it is unhealthy. Sheldon himself was put in an awkward position by Amy's behavior, and he was obviously uncomfortable because of her, way before Will even began retaliating. Optimally he should have called a timeout right then and there and asked Amy to stop being condescending and disruptive.

Imagine if you got Pewdipie to come on your channel and react with you, but your partner kept telling Pewdipie they were not a good KZbinr. He would obviously be upset. Yes, using that language was a bit much, but after being repeatedly insulted, I don’t blame him. @@LadyNeravin I agree with you ! If you side with the partner in that moment to talk later 'le mal est déjà fait' like we say in french. That means, you already wronged someone : your friend. The friend is two times disrespected, because the partner disrespected them, but you, the friend, sided with your partner in front of them. Disrespecting them another time. Me, personnaly, a friend would do that only one time. I would not speak to a friend again if they sided with their partner in the moment in that kind of situation. It doesn't matter if they talked after, because I'm not there and I was disrespected twice before, still ! For me, that's like saying "you being disrespected matters to me less than siding with my partner even if they are wrong". So for me, it would be the end of the friendship. Because respect and frienships are some of the most important things to me. And no one would have respected me there. Or noone would have acted like a friend. I get that some people don't agree. And I respect that. But that's how I view it personnaly

@@Sytrylt I would not end the friendship immediately, but I would want an apologie, and a serious talk about what happened. If that would happen again however...

If your partner is not right you don't have to take his/her side. Of course you can talk to him about it.
