Song: • Good Kid - Down With T... Itsuki Tsuchigami (alternatively miso) is a favorite animator of mine, and I've planned to make a MAD with his work for a long time. Now that FGO Camelot 2 is finally out, I made it!

I really like his work but I don't understand why particularly, and since he's one of your favorite animators I wanted to ask you, what do you love in his work ?

I appreciate the question! A big reason is his linework - he has a rough sort of 'draftsmanship' that gives his artwork a unique feel, and it's very evident in places like 1:40 with the scuff marks on ritsu's face. This sort of thing could be traced back to artists like takahiro kishida as inspiration, but I think he's developed it into his own signature over time. He's also a very efficient animator, and tends to do a very good job of creating ambitious scenes while minimizing the strain they can put on a production. He doesn't go overboard with techniques like impact frames and contrary to many of his close colleagues, his effects work is somewhat minimalistic in a very appealing way. Many young animators have a habit of creating a lot of wasted motion in the process of trying to make something flashy and appealing, but I feel that Tsuchigami is a prime example of how to accomplish as much as possible with as little as possible. His animation can be super complex with really ambitious background animation, yet it still often keeps the drawing count to a minimum (without getting into kanada territory) On top of his skills as an animator, Tsuchigami's output as an action director/storyboard artist blows my mind each time he takes the role. This is limited to Mob Psycho 100 II #11 and a section FGO Camelot 2 as of now, but his work on those proves his potential to be one of the industry's strongest action directors. And at the end of the day, his style just really appeals to me!

@@relux8251 thank you for taking the time to explain !! it's really interesting and now I understand it better, you're right I think that what I love here is the way he makes his scenes spectacular, not with fx and techniques but with "basic" (visually) and strong storytelling and acting. I understand the term "thoughtful" that Yen used too thanks again I loved to read that, and amazing MAD as always ☺
