somewhere around 2010 i saw a video about a substance which can be sprayed on or smoked next to fruits which will kill the bacteria or micro organisms which are responsible for decaying food, thus increasing shelf life. actually i think that is being used here, also the fruits that we buy in India is also now of this same category, i am seeing apples which do not get rotten for months, and we thrown one in garden and it is still saying same

Been here for 14 years and never seen this rubber type of fruits. But one thing I buy only from trusted stores like Costco or HEB. I don’t get that from cheap stores - but wanted to let you know most common problem in US is the Indian Grocery stores sells expired goods and that we have seen so many times.
