What a wonderful man. Had the pleasure of meeting him when I was 16 and he did not disappoint.

That was a lovely tribute, I worked with Peter at Consett when we were working together for Malcolm Murray one of Jacks palls who ran a fabrication business who also sadly passed away only last week, Jack would often call in and see how Peter was getting along and I would tell him , this time next year he’ll be a millionaire, it made Jack laugh, lovely man

A truly wonderful, down to earth humble man. He was a warm, funny, loving, caring man and forthright when needed to be. The world is a lesser place without you big Jack. Legend is the appropriate word in your case.

No other set of brothers will achieve what Jack and Bobby Charlton achieved. Big Jack bought his mum and dad a house , What an exceptional man in my books, Robbo in New Zealand

A nice man. I wrote in another video how he stopped one day in a small town in Ireland and asked me directions. I was 16. Couldn’t believe I was talking to Jack Charlton. Can still see him looking out the window at me...a nice nice man

20 years ago or more I was at a meeting at the Scotch Corner Hotel on the border of North Yorkshire. Who do I recognise in the lounge with some other chap but Jackie Charlton!!! Too ‘star struck/embarrassed’ to intrude on their conversation, I wrote him a brief note, walked into the lounge & handed it to him. As I left the hotel, i saw that he had read my note & he had a big smile on his face! The note read something like this: “Sorry I can’t bring myself to speak to you but My mother is going to be so impressed when I tell her ‘I’ve just seen Jackie Charlton’!!!” His interests outside of football & his devotion to his roots are truly fascinating. I’m from the North East too and love to hear his relaxing Northumbrian accent! Wish I had shook your hand now. God Bless all your family x
