I was ball boy for that arsenal Everton game and I assisted one of wrights goals as I threw the ball to limpar quick so he could get it in early 😂

Exactly 20 years ago! Where does time go? As well as the weather calling off some of these games, it seems a fair number were switched to the Friday or Sunday to avoid clashes with Christmas shopping on the Saturday - this was fairly common on the last weekend before Christmas back then (Sunday trading was only just coming in and online shopping was unheard of).

@FootballGaffesGalore It's to do with the football pools - when a lot of games are called off, a panel of experts sits and decides what the results would have been had they gone ahead.

ITV brought it back when they got the Prem highlights package from 2001-04 before they lost them back to the BBC and dropped the service

No - this was the last season of ITV's Results Service. Then Sky blew them out of the water for the Premier League.

You probably know 6 years on, but it's where a match is postponed, so they have a group of people who vote and decide the likely outcome, had it gone ahead
