That song STILL cranks today. I hear it on the radio here (DC-MD-VA) on a fairly regular basis. Soul for Real is a group of four brothers; the lead singer was 15 when this song was released in 1995.

Lead singer was actually 12 years old when we recorded this record / album, by the time it was released he was 13. I worked on this project and the vocals you hear were recorded for the demo to get the record deal, but they were so good we kept them. That how it was for the entire album.

The point is that he was young and had very little recording experience, if any. He was able to record his vocals as if he was a veteran in the game. This was a time when there was no auto-tune and I respect what he was able to accomplish, whether he was12 or 20 years old; and the entire album was created and and recorded in about 2 to 3 weeks time.

It's crazy to me that I've never seen this music video even though this is one of my favorite 90s cuts. Usually songs sung by kids don't hold up over time, but this is truly a timeless classic.
