I purchased a Canon 7t because I was on a budget. At first I was happy with it because it was my first “real” camera. But then I noticed that it was lacking the features that I really wanted, such as a touch screen and auto focus. Also, most youtube videos had negative comments about the video mode. I just purchased the 90D and it immediately impressed and made me happy! It has all the features I didn’t know I wanted. I’m still trying to learn the features and settings but already I’m so impressed. Now I feel like I have a REAL CAMERA. I will look for more videos in your channel so I can learn more about this wonderful camera.

For anyone looking to buy this camera... I bought it back in 2020 wanting to start a youtube channel with it, I never did. Instead, I started doing videography for local shops and now I have clients paying me $1000s to film videos for their businesses. I have only ever used the 90D with sigma 18-35mm - I do have Cinestyle c-log preset installed so image comes out flat then I colour grade it in post, I don't know if it genuenly works or not since I've never used the REAL c-log but I love how the colors and highlights turn out so I'll stick with it. If you got the money, go buy a mirrorless camera. If you want to stay on a budget or want to start a solo video agency to test the waters, 90D won't disappoint.

the 90D is still a good and relatively recent camera in general. Anything after 2012 is still recent in my opinion; maybe worse than the latest and greatest but that is to be expected.

I have used Canon SLRs for about 48 years, half of that time as a photojournalist. I have upgraded several times since then, but now I have been using a 90D for the last four years. I shoot mostly videos with phenomenal results. I recently added a 16-35mm L series lens to the fleet, also with great results. As for DSLRs, I certainly hope they do not go away. Nothing beats looking at an image through the lens as it will be recorded. After all, we have been doing it this way for almost sixty years.

I’m glad you’re young, but appreciate the value of the older models. I was planning to buy a 90D from a shop near me and called to get details on it and the (younger) guy I talked to began discouraging me from buying it, pushing the newer styles - I assume because he gets commission (?) maybe. But that wasn’t cool. I called a different shop, got an older guy (my age probably) who had nothing to say but he’d put my name on it and that was it. There’s a vast disconnect these days between the photographer and the camera. A good photographer can shoot great images with almost any camera. It’s about knowing light, composition and what to display - with digital it’s way too easy to work at it till it’s right, or delete it all. Thanks for the review. 😊

I bought a used 80D 3 years ago when the 90D came out. $800 like new with the 18-135mm kit lens. Screaming deal. I've since bought a number of other lenses and they've really made me appreciate the 18-135. Great images but a little bulky. Thinking about upgrading to a used 90D now. BTW, you can get an 80D with the kit lens for about $500 now. And you're in business with a semi-pro camera with a HUGE selection of used lenses available. You won't regret it - either the 80 or 90. If you can stretch for the extra $200-300, get the 90. But the 80D is real value and you won't suffer

Excellent camera.. Beast of a Camera. For me, it's best for wildlife and sports and printwork. Even thoughit's not a full frame the pixels make a huge difference compared to many full frames when cropping. It's great for portraits for weddings as well and printing artwork such as canvases. It is really a hybrid and combination between DSLR & Mirroless. 2 in 1. This camera beats many mirrorless cameras when it comes to battery life, build quality, overheating. Another awesome thing is the number of lenses that are compatible with it from the cheapest to the prime ultrasonic canon lenses. I will never replace it. I will only add on to it as it's extremely reliable and is a jack of all trades.

While she was in high school my daughter was in marching band. For KZbin, I shot videos of the band's competitions using my iPhone and plenty of still photos on my old Canon Rebel DSLR. It was not until after my daughter graduated HS in 2020, that I purchased the Canon 90D. I had my eye on this camera because of the ability to shoot video while I could still make photos when it suited me. I was still able to use my "fleet" of EF lenses which was a huge plus. While the camera has a few shortcomings it still beats my old Rebel. Since then, I have used the 90D for the last three years making several videos for my KZbin channel.

Every time I shoot video with this camera, it surprises me how filmic it looks. The noise pattern feels like filmgrain, and the colors are nice right out of camera. The dynamic range isn’t amazing, but you’re fine as long as your brightest highlight is 2 1/2 stops above middle gray. And when the highlights blow out, it doesn’t have that ugly yellow fringe to it, so it actually looks nice. That camera’s a little power house.

As far as APS sensor limitations, I run the RAWs through DXO-3 post process and there you have it, like a new camera.

Thanks for this. I just traded in my Canon M6 MII Mirrorless for a used Canon 90D on account of the EF-M format being discontinued and there should be plenty of EF lenses and accessories around for quite some time. Video and photo specs are on par with the M6 which is fine for my needs but the 90D has an added bonus of a headphone jack and far better battery life.

Compelling points for the 90D. I am shopping for a new one and coming from an old Rebel Xsi. I'm considering the 90D against the R6 MkII which is about $1,100 more expensive (just for the body). A few other down sides are the much lower battery life, lower res of the R6. Do I invest now in 2019 technology or bite the bullet and go for the R6 that is about a year old and has a lot of focusing improvements, stabilization improvements plus its full frame. Your video really shows that the 90D is an excellent camera and will likely do everything I will need it to do but I don't buy cameras that often so I might need get the newer model. Decisions...

Maybe it’s the menu, or just how sturdy and well built it feels out in the field like you said I couldn’t honestly say why I love it so much, but I’m quickly realising I don’t think I am ever going to love a camera more than this bad boy, I just love the camera to death honestly

Please I need advice🙏🏼! I'm not sure which Canon camera to buy under 2000euros. Canon R8 seems like a great choice but many people are saying that they are overheating and kinda low battery life. I like canon 90D(because of full frame,4K,great battery life,sturdy...) but there are more RF lenses that are better than EF lenses. So lenses would be my only problem, i am just wondering if EF lenses are still good for profesional photoshootings like RF ones. Another choice is R10 but its not full frame and i am not sure it will be good enough for more profesional use maybe. I am mostly focused on photography not videography for now(portraits,animals,destinations) but i would still like to see how 4K video would look like if I took it. Please some honest advice🙏🏼❤️

@lb7144 Жыл бұрын
Try to keep your iso around 800 and lower. Some room low lighting will require higher iso but use the flash and stay lower to reduce noise. The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 is a perfect pairing for the 90D. Get a good ND filter for outdoor sunny days. I’ve heard the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 (L) is an excellent lens for the 90D but pricey. With the high megapixel & crop sensor, the 90D is unforgiving with bad or cheap glass. I’m no expert and still learning myself after 1 year of use. It’s hit and miss for me at times especially with the Canon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 STM. Ive got photos that say the best of times and the worst of times. Noise, blur, exposure, stuff like that going wrong. More operator error than the 90D. I’m getting better. Anyway, love my 90D & full frame 5D MK IV.

@@lb7144 I have the 70D with a 18-135 kit lens since 2014 (plus almost all the STM lenses). It was my workhorse between 2014 until just about when the pandemic hit in late 2019. I still brought it with me to Japan then. I must say that after years of using that 18-135mm, it is not a good lens. It's dark actually. I am not a pro whatsoever, that is why I was late to notice it.
@lb714410 ай бұрын
@@gilean6179 I agree, the pixel density for the 90D asks, begs for the better glass. I’m going to eventually save up and purchase the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 (L) USM II. I had better luck with the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and the prime STM & USM lenses for my 90D. Lately I’ve been taking advantage of its video capabilities. There’s a site that breaks down lenses and provides the optimum pixel density for each one reviewed. I can’t find the link now but it shows the 24-70 MK II a good pairing for the 90D. I’ve heard some pros say it never comes off their 90D. I did pick up a Canon R6 MKII for the holidays and it’s on another level. It requires you to know your stuff but it’s more forgiving than the 90D. The EVF is crazy! I understand what most reviewers are talking about now. Shot a few photos at my son’s wedding that came out really well. The 90D & 5DMKIV aren’t going anywhere. They are all amazing cameras that I enjoy.
