They're all good, but Lia just has an incredibly powerful natural voice. You notice this especially when the tone changes. Her voice always remains powerful. I've been saying it since her debut... This girl is simply one of the best singers in Kpop.

Agreed. However, K-Pop isn't suited for her natural voice even though she makes it work and has learned to adapt well. Lia is much better when she sings R&B, ballads, OSTs, and jazz. She's an incredibly versatile singer. Her voice truly shines in slower, lower toned genres and when she's singing within her natural range. That's when her soothing, smooth, honey, angelic vocals take over and makes people feel emotions when listening to her sing, a very rare ability not many singers in this world has.

I feel like nowadays the only member that got to sing in her natural voice in the group is chaeryeong, because when you hear how she sings in her covers, her voice was exactly the same as when she sang in itzy, but when you listen other members', they sang in very different tone. at debut you can argue ryujin and yuna also had higher pitched voices so the songs should cater to the majority of the group at the expense of lia, but these days 80% of the group have a lower pitched voice so I think its finally time to change.

@@Gambit33 I wasn't a fan of whenever they made lia put on a cutesy voice to sing in some songs, its how you reduce all the best characters of her voice to zero. their songs are already fast tempo and high pitched, now you want her to sing cutesy too? omg what are you doing. for me its also a sound that yuna can do effortlessly because its already how yuna naturally sounds, so if they wanted the part to sound cutesy they should give it to yuna. yuna will get to have more lines, can deliver it effortlessly, and lia no longer need to fake that voice, its a win win. i wouldn't mind if lia have less lines in cutesy songs in exchange for more lines in others. but if they must then i would much rather they make her rap than sing cutesy because i find her low tone and pronunciation suits rap more than most idol rappers. in particular i think lia's natural tone suits rap more than yeji, but they love to give yeji rap part, its like yeji rap more than she sings these days. i have always felt like they gave lia the scrap parts but these days it feels like yeji too. so for me its like right now there are 4 members that should get that lower note lines but not enough to go around, so they should just make the whole song lower pitched in general, for the group and especially for lia, because i feel like when lia gets to be at her best, it will attract casual listeners to listen. look at someone like gidle Minnie, shes always singing with the same best part of her voice so people that were attracted by this voice will stay. but if you were attracted by lia's lower tone and later realize she only got to sing it once every 10 songs, you will leave. the company is not strategically utilizing the best portion of her voice enough for the group. other than obviously the emotion, the best portion of her voice imo is her low tone and falsetto which sounds very angelic (can't tie me down and imaginary friends (and always be your star chorus)). the fact that she has that but they only used it 2 times out of 80 songs is a crime.

I totally agree with you, Lia's voice was already incredible, but with this album her voice has become much more powerful. With a good vocal coach her range could become B. Lia has a truly unique voice in the industry. Idols sing with a lot of technique but most forget to sing with emotion or to feel emotion. Technique can be learned, but feeling emotions is innate.

I think the song Binnie made for them suits them and fits their voices really well. I feel like they really shined in that recording not only because they are amazing but because that song was made FOR them. It should be more common to have songs made FOR the idols instead of assigning them songs the company thinks could be for them. Jyp give these talented girls English subtitles at least.

I agree esp JYP division 2 need to let the artists choose the song that suits them best rather than choosing songs that they think suits them. It's the same for GOT7 back when they were still in JYP division 2, more than once the company rejected GOT7's title track choice and went with wad they think suits GOT7 better, bt who would understand GOT7's style better than GOT7 themselves right? Same shld go for Itzy as well. Personally I prefer Vay over Gold tbh.

Above all, I think the producers noticed his incredible versitality. By observing his voice: give us a bit of rap, a high note, a low note, a bit of virbato, make the music cuter, deeper or even sweeter. Lia can do it all, she's Itzy's balance, she's the bridge between Itzy's voices.
