I love the song, it's so refreshing how IU was honest in the lyrics. I teared up with GD's rap because it feels like he's comforting as an oppa but also looking back on his own experiences when he was criticized a lot. I'm a fan of BIGBANG but I've always liked IU not only for her music. I felt bad for her when she was getting a lot of criticism but I'm glad she's grown a lot since then.

bangtan sonyeondan i think it's because of how gd personally addresses iu in the song. he's talking to her, and understanding how she feels to be between 20 and 30, to be so young and successful and to have so many people criticizing everything you do. also, i think the lyrics are personal because they are actually telling us how she feels. when she says "i know you hate me", she's mostly likely talking about all the netizens that have hated on her (she got so much shit because of that stupid "lolita" scandal). but even after receiving that hate, she's "truly fine". the lyrics convey her personal story, but her story is very relatable, which is why i guess you might not think it's personal.
