Jonghyun (Gloomy Clock duet) - wrote that song and gave to IU (they were very close friends). Kind of like G-Dragon of Big Bang, and Suga of BTS, Jonghyun was similar (composer, lyricist and producer) for the very popular Shinee group. IU is drawn to these people for obvious reasons. Jonghyun tragically committed suicide in Dec 2017, which was devastating for IU. If you watch My Mister (best K drama ever) - the filming started when she was still in anguish, and you can see that in her performance. She had to be hospitalized, and the story of how comforting the Director and cast / crew was during this time for her is very heartwarming (much like the drama in the end).

Choi Baek Ho is a legendary singer in Korea and one that IU grew up listening to through her father (he’s an artist that her family loves) so collaborating with him was very meaningful to her and to her family. I love what he said when asked about her “To have such a talented artist with us is a tremendous blessing. To make sure that she sings for us in the years to come, we have to care for her and help her” it’s really nice how legendary singers in the industry respect her and support her.

Bad Day is one of favourite songs of hers and it surprised me to learn that she wrote it when she was 16. To be able to express her emotions in a song at that age and have people relate to it till now takes an incredible talent.

I think her ability to convey her emotions to the audience is one of her greatest strengths as an artist, it’s crazy that she was this good at it this early in her career

​@@SylverReacts bad day is such a dark song, sad and dark 😢 One of her darkest song .... I think its one of her best ballads, and actually this kind of depth is one of her charm. You see (idk if you already realize this), iu's greatest weapon as celeb is her adorable personality, on stage and offstage. BUT, but this "national little sister" has such a deep mind inside her 😢😅

And because of that song, the lyrics of the first song of "Chat-SHIRE", "New shoes" starts with the words "안녕. 오래 기다렸니?" which means "Hi, Did you wait long?".

Jong hoon is the late member of Shinee . He’s her best friend since the early years of depute . One day he send a song he wrote to get her opinion then turn out IU love this song so much and beg him for selling it to her but he gave her for free plus with featuring in this song too. He’s talented,had a nice voice and a kindest heart. 😢

I love Bad Day the moment i listened to it, even without knowing the lyrics. The melody felt unsettling to me, like my mood is being scrambled as i listened to it, dark and chaotic. IU's voice also heightened that feeling. The first imagery that instantly pop in my head is late night, rainy, and a very exhausted person. It is an amazing song, i am still in awe until today.

When I first heard Bad day, I understood without translation that this is some kind of personal song and I was not mistaken. That's why I love Aya, that she can convey her message with her voice. Obliviate, which you liked, was included in the set list of her world tour

Oh I remember Yang Hee Eun, isn't she the one IU mentioned on SUGA's Suchwita? Her senior who made a significant impact on IU with her comment/advice during their collab about putting emotion when singing. Like she had an epiphany..iirc.

idk if you would ever touch on it during your deep dive into IU but for any Love Poem concert footage, IU's mental state was in a very bad place due to the loss of her best friend that happened before the start of her Love Poem tour. all the concert footage was from the last leg of her tour but she struggled so much and almost cancelled the whole tour because she could not bring herself to sing the songs in her setlist as many were too sad for her to sing

Havana was not one of the songs I listened to a lot even though Modern Times is in my top 3 albums of hers but it’s one of my favourtie live performances I love the energy she and the dancers have and the band bring the song to life
