Thanks for your reaction, this clip is a legendary interpretation. MMA is the most prestigious music award ceremony in Korea, IU won album of the year and composer of the year and sang this 2 songs to close the program. The meaning of this song "dear name" according to IU is a condolence, however many think this song is dedicated in particular to the 304 victims of the Sewol Ferry sinking, of them 250 were teenagers on a school trip. There's a documentary about this disaster, Director Joo Hyun Sook said, she thinks the song is for the victims and actually added IU's name to the end credits of that Film and personally thanked her. Also during 2014 IU donated all her profits from the concert series for "flower bookmark" to the victim's families. So to me is clear. When I say legendary performance, I mean it, if you watch the show so many of the singers invited can be seen really moved by this performance.

Those singers are not backup singers, they are whose talent but doesn't have a chance to shine on stage, IU share her stage with those unknow singers. And IU mean I and You become one through music

Also, the letters she was sending were her personal invitations to these performers to be a part of the show. The sign language performers were IU's dedication to the handicap. She also can sign language and is featured in Love Wins All. So, as IU writes most of her music and storyline concepts, lots of her material has some ties and references to each other, going back from her beginning over 10 years ago. Holssi and Shoppers theme is her message to all with hopes to follow their dreams. Same as is covered here!

Regarding the band and dancers, they are all part of IU's company. In fact, all of the production crew, makeup, costume people, etc. are her crew. The band director is the drummer, so you notice that the camera pans to him. Most of them have been in her company for years. This is why she can put on 3 hour performances, as her team really knows their timing. She has passed over raises for years and gave them to her team, so she treats them well. She credits them all to her success. You should check out her 1theK studio performances, her early MVs from over 10 years ago, and her dramas (Hotel del Luna fav).

Just have to wait until closer to the concert imo. I got placed in 28k queue in Oakland and 57k in LA, so I just instantly left the queue and bought resale for floor by the stage. Wish it didn't have to be like that, but I've been waiting for a IU solo concert for 11 years and I wasn't gonna get walled out by pricing lol
