as akid i didnt like him because he was russian i thought lol this was late 60s but as i grew older i realized how great he was as a bad guy!! it blows me away to hear him talk for real! lol- so happy he found the lord thats the best feeling on earth!!!!!-always liked his knee in the back bulldog move!!! I met him when he was signing autographs in the 80's and tried to get him to drop his accent but he wouldn't do it. He laughed about it though pretty much told me he couldn't do it while in character. Super nice guy, at least to me he was.

ran into him about 5yrs ago at a Truckstop in Richmond Va, One of the nicest guys I've ever met, very kind , when he shaked my hand it was like a bear paw, guy looked great!!

Koloff should have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame eons ago. Vince wants to focus on mostly the Hulkamania and Attitude years, though. Johnny Valentine should be there too. And Larry Zbyszko, Ken Patera and Haystacks Calhoun, and so many others.

I grew up with Ivan Koloff, Nikita, and Crusher as the main heels in Ted Turner's wrestling company. Seeing this interview made me appreciate him even more. Portraying a character and playing that character down to a T. That was pure entertainment and it was one of the best childhood memories rooting against the heels from "Russia". RIP Ivan

Ivan Koloff pinned Bruno Sammartino to win the then WWWF championship. He also wrestled in the early 80's for the then WWF so yes he has quite a history in the now WWE.

It's so surreal to see Oreal Parras talking and not the Soviet Ivan Koloff. It's just the same as hearing Scott Simpson talk rather than Nikita Koloff. I once had a Department Manager who said he lived in the same development as Ivan. He knew him and described him as a real nice man who used to entertain the communities' children. I also remember that Ivan was the 1st wrestler I ever saw, in the early '70's. All I recall was.him doing an interview screaming, 'I GET YOU, DUSTY RRRHODES!!! I KEEL (kill) YOU, DUSTY RRRHODES!!!!!!".

It's SO weird to hear him and Nikita talk normal-blown away after listening to them talk "Russian" for 35+ years... o_0 Anyway, W we will miss you dearly, Ivan! You were a master in the ring-the guy you loved to hate. I think he loved the heel role...you can do a lot more with it. So many fond memories of the Russian Bear. Godspeed, Ivan!!

4 years the Russian Bear Ivan koloff should have been a wrestling Hall of famer in his career he won the WWF world heavyweight time from Bruno sammartino and really reform Mid-Atlantic/ NWA wrestling back in the days where NWA rules 👍 # I MISS THOSE DAYS !
