from the album "Novo Tempo" this beautiful song was covered by Quincy Jones (vocals by Sarah Vaughan and Take 6) for his album "Back on the Block" in 1989. (Quincy's version is absolutely amazing, so check it out if you haven't.)

Não há uma única vez, ao ouvir "Setembro", que não acabe em lágrimas. É uma das composições mais belas e comoventes que já ouvi na vida, de um artista cuja obra conheço desde tenra idade. O meu pai (somos de Lisboa de uma das zonas mais antigas, Ajuda), há uns anos atrás bebia um café (uma "bica" na gíria local) e repara num tipo ao seu lado no balcão. Thanks to Q. jones we know that this even exists...It did what good covers always do ..expose the original to a new and sometimes larger audience...It was never claimed as an original by Q.....I don't understand the comparison in that vein...they are both very beautiful..one more modern than the other....Thanks to great recording...composers live on forever..and reach larger audiences..That might not have ever heard their composition...thanks for adding it here.
