As much as Raider jockeys talk about the benefits of the "Ivan's Flash," ECU software update, I couldn't find an actual, real time video on this subject. This video shows you, step-by-step. As part of the Ivan's update, you can choose to keep the stock air intake setup, or go custom. He has ECU flashes for a wide contingency of options. You must have your setup decided on prior to ordering. Ivan's ECU programming controls the proper air-fuel mixture for optimum performance. I chose to replace the stock air filter with the aftermarket K&N. I also removed the air box, which allows more oxygen into the system. The cryptic tank removal to access the air filter is always discussed after the fact. It's never shown or demonstrated. "This is what I did to remove the gas tank...," but we never actually see it happen. It's a really easy upgrade, but expensive, and doesn't include postage. Check out Ivan's Performance website for all the info you need.

Thanks for the video. I love my 2012 Raven Raider S. I had the same cellphone mount TRUST ME get a RAM X-mount it is WAY more secure. And if you are like me and I use my cell as my google maps and for Spotify music to my bluetooth helmet, you don't want your cell taking a fall while riding. Also I would recommend looking into the NOCO jumper, direct to battery connection, and a USB charger to SAE. I have the NOCO connection direct to the battery and it has a plug for trickle charging, jumping, or what I do while I"m riding is plug a USB charger into the port with an adapter between the two so I can run a USB cable to from the front of the seat on top the tank to the bottom of my cell mounted to the bars to keep it charged for rides. I charge it to 100% then unplug and put the USB cable in the X net that comes with the RAM X-mount to hold the cable in place for when my cell gets to under 20%

I truly appreciate your channel. Thank you. I own the 2015 Raider S , the red one with all the shiny chrome, because I couldn't find the black bullet version and without rush. I've been slowly upgrading small things. The bike came with the cobra tuner and the Vance & Hines 2-1 big radius exhaust.

Thanks for the video, just installed the Ivan's Flash and Airbox mod on my raider, got rid of the Fi2000 Cobra tuner, video was a great help, tune definitely added some power and got rid of the annoying popping I was getting on decel.

@@alanp9081 It ran ok but it was running rich and on decel at mid to lower rpm it would pop and backfire quite a bit, which as I understand is pretty normal with the raider and those kind of tuners,,,,, I did run it for years with no major issues but after getting Ivan's Flash it was a noticeable power difference and no more popping.

@@mustangeas3 Thanks for the reply man, I'll be putting the new exhaust on mine tonight or tomorrow, and I've already bought the Fi2000, so that's the way I'll be going, at least for now. I'm not in it for lots of power, I just want it to run with the new exhaust. I've been a motocrosser and sport bike guy for decades, and this kind of riding is way new to me. Not sure if I'll need to change the intake or not, I guess I'll know pretty soon....

@@mustangeas3 I trial fitted the exhaust earlier so I could get a better idea how much I needed to add to the O2 sensor wires, and everything fits like it should. I got shorted one little bracket that clamps the exhaust to the frame mount, but I could tell with just the one that it's all gonna fit. I'll bet it's (Freedom Performance short radius) gonna be loud tho... I'm curious- does the shield get really really hot, like hotter than the stockers?

after 14 years of riding my Raider almost every single day I thought about getting the flash. I have a KN filter (took the cover off) and gutted the stock pipes but put lillipops in for back pressure. It will do 135 with the stock ECU and no fuel computer. It burns rich though so I may just get a fuel computer.

The bike runs great, it’s a beast. I modded the mufflers by measuring how far back the mufflers were and cut the end off with a band saw (a big bandsaw ) and pulled the mufflers out. The state requires a baffle so I fabricated some and installed them to make the inspection guys happy. It’s fairly mellow sounding when idling but when I get on the throttle it’s loud. I have thought about doing the ecu mod with Ivan but want to wait until I decide if I want to go with the pod air filters or not. As is the bike runs great. The benefit of keeping it as is I can always swap a stock set of mufflers back on if I want it quieter. And the auto tune will adjust by itself. With the other tuner I mentioned you would have to adjust the 3 rheostat switches back to your original settings.

Before you installed Ivan's you had the lid off intake mod and aftermarket pipes right??? I'm trying to figure out if Ivan's tune is worth while I bought my bike with the cobra dragster pipes installed so I have no clue what kinda difference the after market pipes made. But my next upgrade was the D&D air intake system and that definitely made a huge difference in power and performance. The jerky on/off feeling from the throttle basically disappeared and the throttle response and on demand power increased dramatically. No joking if I'm not careful when I take off at a light and the tire is able to grip my 800 pound beast will lift and wheelie on me causing my unpleasant syndrome to kick in and I'll tell ya that shittiemypants syndrome is a really shittie syndrome 😊
@TheTSFChannel
@TheTSFChannel Жыл бұрын
@@3613jeremy I had the pipes for a while ( Install video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i17Fipl3rL-AhrM ), lots of cold popping, and I decided on the K&N lidless intake when I ordered the tune. You order the tune to your bike specs. If the pipes or intake system changes, then you need it re-tuned. They'll even set it back to stock. I specified my pipes and what my intake would be. I had to delay riding because even though I had the ECU back from Ivan's, I had to wait until I had the chance to make the install video. LOL...

@@TheTSFChannel exactly everyone talks up Ivan's tune and it might be great but when I talked to Ivan directly over the phone he told me the tune is set up to work with every exhaust from stock to custom but the best numbers he seen was with the V&H 2into1 but the important part was the air intake and I wouldn't notice much of a difference unless I ran a performance intake with his tune so if I noticed a huge difference from just the performance intake then what is the $400 tune actually doing

@@3613jeremy Not trying to speculate, but maybe better regulation of the air/fuel mix. My exhaust popping at deceleration vanished with the flash though, so did my low end torque. I was prepared for that and I'm fine with it. 🤷‍♂️

@@TheTSFChannel as long as I stay on top of my exhaust gaskets so they don't leak do to them being doubled up I don't have any popping and for the torque I'll never let that go I would of thought that a bike as heavy as my raider with my 230pound ass on it would be impossible to wheelie on take off but I've done it a few times and it scared the crap out of me because I was never expecting it. I would assume that tuning it would help mpg and the sparkplugs to last longer but the smiles per red light are worth it
