What do you like the most on this Pullman Guard and which color do you like the most?! 😀 Second outside Pullman doesn't have "Guard" name to it, so maybe it is not armoured version, only the first one.

Yes, the second Pullman outside is clearly the unarmored version. Apart from the spec table you can tell by the black window frames which are much thicker in the first vehicle. These are ballistic steel overlaps to prevent bullets from entering where steel and glass armor meet. The middle window between the doors in the armored version is also completely blacked out and steel instead of glass. The same is true for the rear window which is not a window at all on the Pullman Guard but again a steel bulkhead hidden by the curtains on the inside. On a side note, the Pullman Guard in two-tone body color looks much better than I thought it would with the black ballistic overlaps. I assumed it would only look good in all black!

Maybach lost the battle of market share because Mercedes marketed Maybach as its sub-brand and not a standalone brand. BMW and Volkswagen have always marketed Rolls Royce and Bentley as standalone brands. No one buying a Rolls Royce would want a BMW logo instead of the Spirit of Ecstasy. Mercedes should have kept the Maybach as standalone brand with the body work very distinct from an S Klasse.
