you should probably learn to speak Iceland or Faroese then as that is the 2 closest language to the old norse that all the vikings spoke. I for one am half danish and half faroese so i can speak both languages and i grew up doing viking reenactment and as such is even one of 8 warriors in our small clan. We have axes, swords, daggers, spears, dane axes and lots of shields aswell. Rather be more like the old days vikings than modern day vikings.

Other hypothesis is that he was actually known as "the Hated", which in Latin would be Exosus. A medieval scribe with a basic knowledge of Latin could easily have interpreted it as ex (without) os (bone), thus "the Boneless",although it is hard to align this theory with the direct translation of his name given in Norse sources.

Lazy writing and a mistake many writers are making in series these days when a much loved character dies is "oh no we cannot replace him, it must be different now". No, F that. Bjorn and ubbe were more than capable of filling that hole left and did to some extent but the writing did not do them justice and wtf happen with floki? Probably the second most loved character in that series and it felt like you abandoned him.
