As a gay man just shy of 60, after the election I kinda felt like just giving up and becoming agoraphobic. Then I started listening to my sisters from other misters, and I got my strength back. Keep offering your pearls of wisdom, I'm done keeping my mouth shut as I live in rural Indiana, where I have to endure post election gloating. I paused your show as I ran into the grocery store only to hear an old white man telling the woman next to him come January trump will get these prices back down which instantly triggered me. I turned your show back on and turned up the volume on my phone and purposely followed him around the store with my phone. So satisfying as you were doing fuck trump at the time, it's like you made the podcast just for me right at this moment in my life when I needed my golden angels most. 5 star review.

Yes there is. Politics comes and goes, if you are healthy, have a roof over your head, enough to eat a couple of times a day, someone to love, someone who loves you, a warm coat and a green space to walk in nearby you have everything you need to be happy. Nothing else matters. We can teach our children our way, all they need to succeed, and more. Save your money for a rainy day instead of having that bit of designer cloth or handbag, the latest shoes or bit of plastic that costs the earth for your child to play with. Turn off your TV, turn off your screen and potter, do anything, tend plants, polish a piece of furniture, improve your space by having a move around so it looks different, read the New Testament, it's a belting story even if you don't believe, read a book you've read before and loved, get neighbours to swap books, knitting patterns, knitting crochet sewing lessons. Get to know your neighbours better, swap recipes, have a natter about the old days, teach your kids new skills like reading from a book to you, get them to put on a show, just sitting together for a hug anything that's not a screen. We have just done this. Locked out politics and switched of the news, that's where our fears build, where our hate builds, there is never any good news. Never. I'm never going to watch the news again. I have my favourite podcasters like these two lovely ladies, my favourite channels on here, knitting, crochet, cooking, God (no religion or church please, not for me, I've had a belly full of false prophets screaming in my face on here. No wonder we are losing our humanity) I have 3 channels I watch that would fill even unbelievers with the peace and calm of the New Testament. I think Jesus rocks, I will not judge anyone for anything anymore, no human holier than me and I'm no holier than anyone else. I am equal to every human on the planet and they are equal to me. I've always been the same. Money means nothing to me. I can't eat drink or breathe it. I'm quite elderly now, not in good health because of painful joints and COPD from living in toxic air all my life ( the real reason we have to stop with the fossil fuel) I'm 69 years old, mother of a murdered youngest son, 2 other sons and a beloved daughter, I have 12 grandchildren. I live in a tiny house in Manchester UK on a social housing estate which I wouldn't swap for anything now I have a garden and green space to hobble round. I feed the birds, make homes for wildlife to come near and love chatting to whoever I bump into. I'm learned to be a good listener, my husband is much younger than me, works very hard and has executive status after 25 years in the same place. He works in the public sector. The lowest paid for his ability in all things green and outdoors for a city which has more poverty than most. He has made life better for so many, he does it quietly, but with great ability and care. I'm happy now I've realised how lucky I am to have all this in my life. I realised how much this little screen made me angry or feel cheated and definitely brought me down, I started judging people and putting them down, even commenting in a bad way adding fuel to the fire. Stopped a while back and made sure screen time was just that. I've actually managed to have more time with real humans than with my screens. It was. Hard At first, then i remembered I had spent most of my life without a screen, 24 hour world news and everyone's opinion. I now access free patterns recipes and ideas for time away from all this angst causing chaos online. Hope you can also lose the anger and worry too, because non of it matters at all.

Then we’d have to get dressed up…to cook, set the table , and clean up. Not fun. Mom had to use the good China that couldn’t go into the dishwasher as opposed to paper plates. We were hosting one year and I found out that a local catering hall was hosting a thanksgiving buffet , with a wide variety of food. Not just 🦃! I asked my family if we could all go there..our treat. Nope! They wanted to be together with us at our house. Ugh. The best Thanksgiving I ever had was right after Hurricane Irma. We were still cleaning up and rebuilding. Our local American Legion hosted dinner. We went. We made a voluntary donation, purchased beer and was grateful for the volunteers that put the meal together.

We need to get rid of the "Give Thanks" tradition on Thanksgiving. Cut the bullshit! How about showing empathy, kindness and being thankful the rest of the 364 days of the year.

You know what I'm thankful for I will have no trumpets at my house for Thanksgiving, not 1 and we are going to drink and we are going to get high and we're gonna eat a shit ton of food and we're going to celebrate Native American life. And more good food. And just enjoy hanging out, play games, I'm thankful that this thanksgiving is with people I like

Found your podcast at 6 a.m. when laying in an air BNB in Denver at a family reunion and wanted to fall back asleep since my body thought it was 5a.m. Thanks for nothing. You 2 are so entertaining I was wide awake listening. Love the podcast. I also want to bring up your comments about becoming witches. I'm currently reading Nexus by Harari. He sites the social classes of Russia under Stalin and the accusations of witchcraft and attempts to extinguish them. Point being, it is a great time to be a witch to fight totalitarianism. Get on your brooms!

I have volunteered in a homeless shelter for years. Every day we hand out Bomba's socks. Great company. Thanks.

Every Thanksgiving, I cannot help but remember the scene from Addams Family Values when Wednesday is in the Thanksgiving play at camp. If you know you know 😂.

I’m going to divert with you, ladies on this one. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it combines two of my favorite things: good food and being with my family who actually gets along. And good wine. We don’t have to buy gifts for each other, we don’t have to build up to a crescendo of insane levels of stress and anxiety for it, we don’t have to feel guilty about not doing enough. We just show up, bring some food, pour a glass or two or five of wine, and eat and talk.

I'm a missionary to Haiti and though I don't agree with you ladies on everything ,I agree 💯 percent on the hypocrisy of alot of Christians concerning Trump. I wish you both and your families a Happy Thanksgiving!! People who voted for Trump is like turkeys voting for Thanksgiving. Evangelist Roger Mansour

Canadian here. Our Thanksgiving is in October. But not even close to an American Thanksgiving. But for years my family doesn’t even family giving. I do miss the gathering but when the mood hits we get together at a restaurant sometime during the year. Then I am remind why I am thankful for not having family giving. Friends giving sounds exhausting too.
