My husband and I are strong believers that struggled with infertility for 4 years. We were told that IVF with ICSI was our only option. We felt some deep convictions against the process of IVF including the surplus of embryos that are created. If we believe life starts at conception, then embryos are children at the earliest stage. We felt called to adopt 4 of the 2 millions of embryos sitting in storage that will not be transferred by their parents. We have a beautiful daughter through embryo adoption and feel so thankful she is no longer sitting in a freezer. If you ever want to chat about it, I am happy to be a resource. We are the same age as you!

Never heard of embryo adoption. That is awesome!! I don't know why more people in the Christian community don't talk about this. I mean I do, but also it needs to be a conversation 😊

@@jamielee0123 Honestly I’ve never really had any issues with it. I’m just thankful that science allowed my parents to have children. I also am thankful that someone as generous as the anonymous egg donor was willing to donate their eggs to help others.

Side note: I agree the legals are so weird (but necessary!). The weirdest part of our contract was the clause that basically said “you can’t return your baby, regardless of how many are born or any issues. They’re yours.” Of course, there’s always a reason WHY these clauses have been put into contracts, so I asked my doc and he said they had a couple who transferred 2 embryos and had triplets. They said “they didn’t sign up for that many babies and it was too much for them to handle”. 🤦‍♀️ As we say in the south…bless it. 🙄🤣

I know that you don’t want to share all intricate details about this process as you are currently going through it but I think it’s very interesting, helpful and admirable that you are putting the information out there so somebody who is going through a similar situation can do their research and have this information readily accessible to them. I also would recommend that you think about the one part of the process that there wasn’t much information out there about and share that so it could be helpful to somebody else of course as much as you’re comfortable with.

First of all, I am so excited for you guys as you start this part of the journey! I know it’s overwhelming at first, but SO worth it when you’re holding your little one. ❤️ Like you, I also did 2 IUIs (3rd one was cancelled due to my follicles not responding to the med anymore) and then moved on to IVF. I, too, had been praying about it and God gave me SUCH a peace about it, I knew it was His will. After 1 retrieval and 2 frozen transfers (I have PCOS and was overstimulated during the stim process, so it wasn’t safe to do a fresh transfer), we had our baby girl. Then we did another frozen transfer 2 yrs later and had our son. 🥰 I say all of that to say this: stay strong and faithful, bc we serve a faithful and loving God who wants to give us the desires of our hearts. It won’t be in OUR timing, but in His - which is always perfect. 🙏 XO

I'm currently getting a PhD in medical and kinship law in Germany, especially regarding ART, so hearing you talk about embryo adoption and treating embryos as property in the US was super interesting!

Hi there! I'm on a similar journey as you-I'm about to start IVF in a few months. I had surgery last December to remove endometriosis, and honestly, the recovery wasn't bad at all. Like you, my cramps used to be immune to pain medication before the surgery. Now, the first day of my period is still a bit painful, but pain meds help! Wishing you the best of luck with your IVF journey.

Oh my goodness yes. I went to my obgyn recently and prior to the appointment I called to see if I had any copays aside from any copays I pay to specialist. They never responded and when I arrived to my appointment, they tried to charge me upfront $300 for an ultrasound. I went back and forth with this and left the office and when I called my insurance, they confirmed that this is a diagnostic procedure that should only be given IF after preventative services determined I need further assessment. It was super frustrating the the dr’s office was trying to charge me prior to the appointment and said “i had to do this as it was part of the appointment.” As a foemer recptionist I totally understand you, its not the money, its the misinformation!!

I feel ya with the insurance issues - I'm a PA so don't work directly with the insurance issue, but it is so frustrating. IE I was just fighting with insurance over my glasses/contacts coverage - not a big deal for the actual cost, but why do they think I only need one of them?? Mind boggling

Hi Rachel, I have endometriosis. I've found out after a scan with ultrasound and discovered the several tissues involved after an MRI focused on the low abdomen. I don't know the cost of those exams in the USA, but they're not as invasive as a laparoscopy. Anyway, I hope it's not your case and that it will get better soon.

I have had several normal MRI scans and then when I had my lap it was stage 4 and everywhere. The MRI did not show anything! Endo can only be confirmed via biopsy at the time of lap.

@@Justme_elizabeth I'm really sorry to hear that. Hope you're doing ok, by the way. I must have been "lucky" then. The doctor who found it, saw that I had some cysts in my ovary at first, and suggested an MRI to be sure. It shown several tissues between my organs. I've been on medication for years now. But, anyway, I guess your case was harder to spot .___. I really hope you're ok now.

I know nothing about this so just curious! I've seen ome other TTC creators seem to have their transfer fairly soon after their egg retrieval like 5 days, is it just the first round there is more to get ready / test before transfer? Or is it that they are frozen until you can see your doctor to get the go ahead? Love your videos & wishing you all the best!

Genuinely want to know- if you had like 3 embryos.. would you consider triplets or twins etc? Or would you freeze them and use the other 2 later to space our kids? Idk how it works, but loving this content!

I’m pretty sure most doctors won’t transfer 3 embryos, I think some won’t even transfer two because of the risks that come with pregnancies of multiples!
@jaymewilliamsfitness4352
@jaymewilliamsfitness4352 11 ай бұрын
@@elimarks558 Just based on my personal experience, it’s usually up to both 1) the doc’s recommendation based on embryo quality/“grade” and if they believe the embryo(s) will implant (which means they could also always “split” into twins or triplets). And then 2) the couple’s decision on IF one embryo split, would you want a second embryo to be implanted, too. These docs (at least mine) was extremely good about discussing the quality of our embryos and the chances of implantation and possible division. Hope that helps! ❤️
