exactly. thats the best way ive ever heard it put. cause the thing is when you go to a live show you go to see a good show! have a good time etc etc. i mean yeah people will more than likely notice if a note isnt hit but when a band such as (TDWP), or any other band that puts on a amazing show, puts a amazing performance one it doesnt compromise their talent as a musician.

I mean i get what he's saying but i wouldn't go as far as to saying its called being a true musician. the road does a lot to a musician and when they have so many shows in so little time it affects them especially vocals. so yeah it doesnt sound the same as recorded but they are giving one hell of a show. and just because they arent hitting it note for note of the recording doesnt mean they arent good. studio work is something caught in the moment. live work is just well...live

I was lucky to go to the back to the roots tour in 2010 ( I think) where they played classics like swords, dragons, and diet coke, texas is south, rosemary breakdown, as well as reptar and html from plagues. they also played louder than thunder as an encore song.

I totally agree with you. It's definitely better to sing lower notes than ruin the song. BUT if you do something on the record, you should do the same on live, it's called being a (true) musician. It's easy to do something amazing on studio, but it's on stage that we can see the true talent or not ?

well i mean... ive loved TDWP for years now, but maybe they didnt do it because after doing a tour, and a long set, he wouldnt be able to do some of the songs off of plauges. his vocals in that we so intense. and sadly theyre not long gone. i still love everything they do, but it sucks

Most engineers will tell you studio recording is 90% art, 10% troubleshooting, and live sound is 10% art, 90% troubleshooting. You have time to get it right in the studio, you are flying by the seat of your pants live and only get one chance to make it sound good.

Just the built in mic (Canon HFM41) There were a few songs during the AILD set that made the mic clip because their bass levels were so high. I have a studio and have done mixing/mastering for the last 5 years, it didn't sound this good straight out of the camera haha. Also the sound at the venue was great which helped (Ben, TDWP's sound guy does great work).

Well considering he's moving and jumping around 95% of the time, its hard to conserve your breath regardless, also their transition between songs are very fast. I'm impressed he can still not only scream but still have energy to go berserk after a couple of songs,

Yeah, honestly if they would just rerecord plagues so it's tighter and the production is top notch, it would be awesome. I get that they probably don't like the writing of it compared to their new stuff, but a band needs to embrace the music that gained them recognition IMO.

I just got 8-18 the other day, it's a lot like Dead Throne unfortunately. It's good in it's own respect but it has a much darker/creepier feeling to it than their other stuff. I still reach for Plagues and Roots Above anytime I want some TDWP.
