The story of ARR and Goa is incomplete without the song Hai Rama. RGV wanted a sensual song like Dhak Dhak, but ARR was bored of the same old formula. He was in a hotel, flipping through TV channels, when he stumbled upon Mughal E Azam and the song Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya. He was inspired by the classical raga that blended with the romantic mood. He decided to create a tune that had a similar fusion of tradition and modernity. He showed a rough sketch to RGV, who was furious. He couldn't imagine how a classical tune could be sexy and not boring. But ARR was confident of his vision. He completed the song with his signature style and production. He played it to RGV, who was speechless. He had heard a masterpiece. That's how Hai Rama came to life.

A lot of movies that came after mocked Urmila’s sex kitten-sexy siren status which is part of why Urmila never got her due i think. Some David Dhawan-type movies would have sequences about families looking for a bride for the son and they would point to a sexy-Urmila photo and the elders would react in alarm. KKHH had the charades sequence in the Simla camp where Kajol doing a sexy enactment for Rangeela was apparently not fit for children’s eyes - that’s how the movie got framed and how Urmila was slotted away from the gharelu bahu that Madhuri/Kajol and the rest cornered as their space

Abbas & Urjita have taken 'age' in context of how old they are but I respectfully submit that it should cover the entire lifespan of Hindi Cinema. The fact that one or more of panelists have often not seen 'famous, hit & iconic' films, would also make it an educative experience for them. The duo is hung up on RGV, wonder how would Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Satyajit Ray, Asit Sen, Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai etc. affect them. Fun, frivolity & nostalgia....

Couldn't have been Raghuleela, the place was still doing fairly well in 2006. Little less by the late 2000s-early 2010s because of Inorbit just sweeping through. But still better than no theatre containing Centre One, which was a tad outdated.

There was an incident I remember when my aunt didn't allow my cousin sister to watch the movie because of the glimpses of the songs she had seen in television and later my cousin brother who was much younger watched the movie before her and convinced my aunt to let her sister go to watch the movie because it was completely different from the songs😊❤

I would highly recommend Jungle by Ram Gopal Varma starring Urmila, Sushant Singh Rajput and Fardeen. The technical excellence of the movie is at par with some of the Hollywood Cinemas during the era

Urjita and Abbas , mere “India Pod Day 2023” ke comments ke liye maafi. This is the 7th episode I have listened. It’s music has definitely aged well. Music fraternity still do renditions of ‘Hai Rama’. With that song a duo won the Indian Idol as well. Aamir’s Munna act was top class and he himself could not match that to Siddhu’s character in Ghulam. Surprised to know that Sridevi was considered for Urmila’s role

Urjita is just not fit for this show…. She just doesn’t get the times, context, the iconic status etc etc of most films….. she just has a template “agency of woman” line for every episode and she uses it as a crutch coz she just doesn’t doesn’t get it!! And abbas, just a flop in Laal singh chadha doesnt take away Aamir’s streak of hits and record breaking films from rangeela to dangal and Tushar rightfully schooled you on that point! Dangal is still India’s highest worldwide grossing film with around 2000cr globally and Aamir has the maximum number of record breaking films as a matter of fact so either don’t talk about what you don’t know OR do your basic homework!
