Rock on brother! For me the Stooges have ruled since I first saw the in 1968 at the Grande Ballroom. So far just in the past ten years, I've blown out two sets of car speakers because of these guys! Turn it up and blow 'em up if you have to is what I say. Ohh ya, and old neighbor of mine said his toilet used to shake at its foundations. Asked why he never said anything and he said he didn't want to ruin our fun. I was in my twenties back then and he was in his sixties. Cool guy! This was a great concert. I damn near broke down and cried I was so happy to see the Stooges reformed and playing in front of such a huge crowd. I guess for me the only show that might have beat it was Cincinnati Pop in 1970, but them I do have to emphasize "might".

AnotherYear, cool man. I only got to go to the Grande 3 times, A friend of my older brother worked there and used to sneak me in the back door cause i wasn't old enough to get in. Then the Eastown Theater opened up, it was a cool place. But the Grande was the Taj Mahal of Detroit man. it's cool to talk to people that went to the places you did so many years ago, there are not many of us left.... Rock On Brother, Figel

I must comment, in 1970 i saw the Stooges at the Easton Theater in Detroit. I was 16 years old, during the concert Iggy was ramming Pencils into his arms, Blood running down his arms. A girl sitting next to me on the floor 10 feet from the stage, kept yelling Iggy I want to Fuck You,He finally did a stage dive to the floor in front of us, he was crawling on all 4's,he got 2 feet in front of me , In My Face, He Totally Freaked me Out!! Then he went to the girl next to me and had his way with her.The Band just kept playing. What a Night to remember, for $3.50. Detroit Had The Best Concerts Then, Cousin Figel

Undeniable fact: No one after Iggy is as cool as Iggy. A Detroit original. The late 60 & 70s were such a great time for Detroit rock. If an act wasn’t completely original it didn’t get noticed. I remember going to high school dances in the suburbs in the 70s and some bands would play 20 minute instrumentals trying to be artistic. Every bar had live music at least on weekends. When disco came, a lot of clubs had a band on one floor and disco on another. What a time to be alive and grow up in Detroit. We could go to Canada without any I’d let alone passport.

Eso es rock. Yo soy de Panamá. Acá no hay cultura roquera, pero de los buenos roqueros que apreciamos la buena música somos pocos. The stooges and Iggy son únicos!!! ❤️

Iggy and the Asheton brothers! I bought THE STOOGES in 1969 when I was 12. That album got alot of play. I WANNA BE YOUR DOG and 1969 got played over and over. Iggy and the Stooges changed Rock and their influence was ALL OVER '70s 'Rock! That FLOWER POWER AND PEACE CRAP needed IGGY to stomp on it!! The BASS pro has his trunk of clothes in order, with his CREEM tee shirt. Lester Bang(I don't know what he said about Iggy and the Stooges, but he slammed the Alice Cooper band either about Love It To Death or KILLER) BUT he would have had to retract a bad review of the Stooges because of this shirt! RIP-THE ASHETON BROS(and Lester Bang(and CREEM))!🎸🥁😵🤘

Born in 1962 in small town Atlantic Canada. Dad was an arsehole. Always connected to this stuff. Three waves of punk rock. I always go back to the first two albums. Asheton is great to play loud when your neighbours aren't expecting it. Detroit!

Oh my God, talk about a Triumph. They must have rehearsed and they're living off the tremendous energy and love they have for each other. This is pure beautiful transcendental rock and roll. With Dave having died, the only thing to do was get the best possible bassist who knew and loved and respected the music and boy Mike is in heaven playing with his Heroes. This is one of those rare moments where we can experience as fans uncompromised joy and satisfaction

I was there! We got cancelled the first time when the 2003 blackout happened. We made our way thru the mess up to pine knob just to get shut down. He did the concert later in Sept and they honored our tickets and I was 7th row in guardian alarm freebie seats to left of stage. Acoustics were terrible but of course I had fun! I was 30 something back then so of course I had fun! I drank 22 24oz beers at that venue before from a beer distributor who knew what he was doing. 2 bucks got me 2 cups full but I had to slam the first 24oz in front of him

In 1981 the Stones came to Detroit, Pontiac Silverdome. World tour. In each city there were different opening acts. In Detroit it was Santana and Iggy. Iggy went on first...and he lasted about 15 minutes. People were throwing bottles at him. He walked off screaming f you. Detroit is a tough crowd....and Iggy is from there
