I'm a dental tech.for 47 years.I know digital dentures are here but I have a few concerns. When using the milling technique there is alot of acrylic wasted. How is that disposed of as acrylic does not break down.Is their an allowance made when the holes are drilled to accept the teeth so that when the teeth are adhered to the base with the cold cure acrylic you won't have an open bite. Conventional try ins are done in wax and if changes are needed they are done very easily and the patient can see the changes in usually a half hour or less. How does this work with digital dentures.

Dear Larry Stradeski, We first mill a denture using ProArt CAD Try-in. This denture serves as a try-in. Then, we mill the final denture. For the bonding procedure, we use a kind of guide to avoid any problems related with this step. Best regards ServiceLine, Ivoclar Vivadent

Thanks for the reply, but you never adressed the problem of what is done with all the acrylic waste .If changes have to be made to the tryin does a new denture have to be milled in order for the patient to see the changes.
