Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 - Zero Isle South (Smoochum)

Things needed for this dungeon:
1. A good lv.1 dungeon soloer pokemon (good movepools, ability, stats, type)
2. Fully understanding the game mechanics (pokemon types, abilities, moves, etc.)
3. A lot of patience and luck

Generally: 1. Collect as many items as possible on earlier floors 2. Learn about the enemies in the dungeon (moves, type, best way to defeat it,etc.) 3. A pass scarf will make your life much easier. 4. Be lucky. Lucario learns Dark Pulse which has good type coverage and range. It can help you through the later floors. If you're lucky you can also use the TMs found in the dungeon. If you see gummies, try to avoid it since it's a monster house. You can use Pure Seed for stealing Kecleon's Shop.

Togekiss' hustle ability makes it easier to miss and you get no level up moves. That means you're stuck with the starting moves unless you find a good tm. And after testing it, Togekiss will suffer from monster houses and the tougher enemies deeper in the dungeon.

So I used Smoochum and got to floor 92 and then a stairway monster house happened with like 5 Empoleons. I had 7 Reviver seeds and used them all from constant fury attacks and metal claws from the Empoleons. Powder Snow was only doing like 15 damage to them and I barely made it to the 93rd floor. The next floor I got put to sleep by a Hypno and it took me out. So disappointing because I was only a few floors from the end. :( I will keep trying though. Water Pulse is a great move to have on Smoochum and I often find Water pulse TMs within the first few floors then teach it to Smoochum! :)

Just completed zero isle south with smoochum, I think I got utterly lucky because I always found enough food, a few reviver seeds and most importantly an Evasion Scarf, I was barely touchable

Both pokemon need a lot of exp to level up and learn new moves slowly. For example, smoochum learns lick at lv 5, sweet kiss at lv 8 and powder snow at lv 11. Sweet kiss is pretty broken for this dungeon and powder snow is a room move. Giratina and Palkia learn their new move at level 10 and they need 400+ exp just for lv 1. Most of the time you'll be out of pp before leveling up. Smoochum also has the forewarn ability which can save you in a pinch.

0:20:13 onward. You confronted a Stunky directly, and both of his abilities came into play. Stench terrified you a little bit, then Aftermath created an explosion that crippled you hp-wise.

Jynx levels up more slowly and has no Sweet Kiss. Sweet Kiss is essential for this dungeon.

Did you mean Jynx? Smoochum evolves to Jynx, while Chansey evolves to Blissey. Anyway Blissey is not a good choice in this dungeon because it is slow to level up and has no room ranged moves which is essential to clear monster houses. I don't use Jynx because it levels up far more slower than smoochum.

Since Salamence levels up slowly and doesn't have good movesets at low level, I wouldn't recommend using it. As for another soloer, I think Lucario is a decent one.

I just beat Destiny Tower with Mesprit. That was a friggin' journey. So many scares, so many near-deaths, so many epic battles, and not a single Reviver Seed to be found... Just out of curiosity, since I've never gone for Zero Isle South, which would you say is harder? South or Tower?

Metal Jacket In general Destiny Tower is more difficult because you can’t be rescued or use reviver seed. Nonetheless, if you’re not using the drifblim strategy the run relies heavily on luck.

It has no weaknesses but levels up slowly. You will need to get to level 25 to learn Omnious Wind to deal with monster houses.

I did this pretty efficiently with a Smoochum as well. Apparently even the devs admitted that Smoochum/Jynx is the best Pokemon to take on this dungeon with.

You actually can't waste Reviver Seeds here as you can't bring items. You also get a ton of Vitamins and Sitrus Berries from this dungeon. Not to mention that this dungeon is the only legitimate way to get Goggle Specs without cheating.

Trap Scarf has the same effect as Trap Seer IQ Skill. It's somewhat redundant if you have Goggle Specs since you can see the traps. It is also only found in Zero Isle South just like Goggle Specs.

You know something that isn't cool? The fact that the game makes it seem like whenever an enemy picks up an item they're stealing it. Like when u pick up some random thing that BELONGS TO NO ONE it's ok, but when they do it its a crime

Interesting choice, compared to Smoochum it has only one weakness. Just asking, how do you deal with Monster Houses? As far as I know, Drapion doesn't learn any room moves naturally.

From my experience, evolved pokemon tend to level up and learn moves slower. But I think the ability to handle monster house is the most important thing here. And none of the pokemons you listed have room moves early. But you can always try to run with different pokemon and see which one is the best for you.

I think it was my 9th try on recording, but most of the time it appears. Not counting countless attempt for completing it the first time. Confusion with ginseng will deal almost the same amount of damage.

Avec 99 etages le pokemon meneur qui est le seul a y entrer en commencant au niveau 1 sans argent, ce donjon est l'un des plus difficiles du jeu ( seul la tour du destin l'est encore plus!) Il faut vraiment avoir une dose de chance pour le conquerir entierement en essayant de mettre la main sur des objets comme telecharpe ou derivation pour progresser plus facilement!
