I would like to thank you for your critique on this airbrush. I was undecided as to which I should purchase from several brands and chose according to your recommendation. I have not regretted my purchase, and have gotten another Iwata for general purpose. They're beautiful airbrushes and atomize just wonderfully. Thank you again.

The nozzle that you refer to on the Infinity is available for the Iwatas as aftermarket parts. I just do my own by making the small cuts to the Iwata nozzle tip. I have been using the microns since they were introduced. They have GREAT paint guns as well. I use them mainly because I can get automotive urethanes to spray consistently with very fine detail. I have Iwatas that I bought in the late 80's. Back when got my first one, it took a bit of time to get used to the sensitive nature of the tip and needle, and mixing the paints to the right viscosity, but it wasn't long at all and I had never been able to get the other airbrushes to do fine pencil line detail like the Iwata. Car paint is brutal on airbrushes, but if you keep them clean and keep the needle protected at all times they will make you a lot of money. You have to pay a bit for something that works this well, but you make it back so fast it's not a consideration at all. They are not for beginners, I would not let students near them. People who know how to set them down and properly clean and adjust them will take to them fast, otherwise it will be hate at first sight.

I have many airbrushes and this is the Bugatti veyron of airbrushes to say a badger krome being a Porsche for example. There is some really nice airbrushes but my cm- c plus and cm- B is second to none when it comes to ultra fine detail.

Hi Great review ... looks a wonderful bit of kit, I seem to recall being told that due to the precision build of the Custom airbrushes you had to be far more careful to get the paint / thinner ratio just right or it would block more easily than the more basic versions ... have you found this to be the case? D
I have this air brush and really like it. Easy to clean and quick colour change by back flushing with air. I don't use it for clear coat or primer, I use a Sparmax with a 0.3 needle for that and find they are all I need. Would be interested to hear from someone who sprays primer / surfacer and Klear with one.

24 PSI seems high for Gravity Feed AB. Can you please tell us why you prefer this PSI?

What's that nozzle blocker thingee for back flushing and where can I get one?
@alemu66537 жыл бұрын
Custom micron is designed to spray close and on low pressure. For shown kind of work an hp-c or other generic 0.3 ab is better suited

I wish Harder and Steenbeck put their Airbrushes in a metal case. I literally this morning received my Cult of Paint Infinity Airbrush and the plastic box has been smashed to bits, the airbrush itself had fallen out of the packaging and was rattling around the larger, outer box! It doesn't look damaged but it could be, I haven't used it yet (gotta wait until my birthday, this Friday 🥺) Element Games need to improve their packaging and UPS need to handle packages more gentley, mine has clearly been dropped (collapsed box corner and the box corrugations have black marks over one side of the box indicating that it's been sliding around either in their depot or in the van) but more bubble wrap, any bubble wrap around the Airbrushes box would have protected the inner packaging but they just shoved it in the box, right up against the out packaging. Very dissapointed, they're sending me a new box so that's good but hopefully I don't discover damage later on. Hopefully the compressor (I ordered the Iwata tubular handle version based on your review) is okay as that came in the same damaged box as the airbrush.

I bought one at a local air supply shop with a 55% off ticket. I'm now using a Patriot. I got back into this hobby after 30+ yrs. I make WW2 German armor mostly but I do make a plane or two. Should I sell my Krome (unused) and get another airbrush?

I read the information on this range of Airbrushes, instantly I recalled the scene in Days of Thunder, where the old fella tells Tom Cruise that he put special tyres on the car, those special tyres would help little Tommy 'go to the outside' of a dangerous corner that no one goes to the outside of... And then after the race the old fella reveals that it was all a lie to make little Tommy feel better because he was being a twat. That's what the description of these Airbrushes made me think of, I think maybe they should re word it a bit so it sounds less like corporate buzzwords that don't really mean anything because in Iwatas case, they do mean something... about £200 over the cost of the regular version of the includes brushes 🤣
