I just purchased this airbrush as my first since 1977. When at that time I was doing Muriel’s on vans. I paired the album cover of Eagles Hotel California on a van. And now I am retired and am going to use this one to pint fishing lures. I am looking forward to getting started with this. It is not the same so much as auto painting but I think I will be able to produce some really nice fishing crank bait lures

I just purchased this exact airbrush and I’m looking forward to using it. The simplicity to clean it is terrific. One thing I learned today was to clean the tiny nozzle on the very end with a piece of sewing thread soaked with whatever thinner that’s necessary. Just feed the thread through carefully with a small needle, then soak the thread with thinner, pull it back and forth a few times and then pull out the thread from back to front. Don’t attach the thread to the needle, just use it to feed the thread through the small hole of the nozzle, then pull it through a tiny bit. It works good and no damage to the small nozzle. Anyway, great video and thank you for posting it.

Having broken off the nozzle tip of my el-cheapo brush this morning, seeing that the HP-CS has a 'floating' nozzle has just sold the unit to me lol.

just picked up my eclipse from hobby lobby for 95.00. and got the mat for 9.00. your review helped in this decision. also have a badger 105 and 155 and can't wait to see how this one compares... great review thanks for the info.

just bought one of these on the back of your and other reviews, must say it's a great air brush and much better than the cheap one (which I managed to break) that came with the compressor, your right it feels and handles great :)

Great vid. I use a h&s grafo at thecmoment but am getting an iwata for varnish and primer. My only critique would be to never load the needle from the back. Always load it from the front of the brush backwards so you definately cannot snag the nib
@OrcPainterNerd9 жыл бұрын
WarGames I have not herd of the grafo but herd great things about H&S airbrushes. I use a iwata custom micron CM-C plus for most of my super fine detail work but been using a iwata neo for work horse duties this will replace that, but will use it for most tasks. I know what your saying about replacing the needle from the back but by using my finger as a guide touch wood not dinged one yet :)

Love the iwatas for ease of use in general. Only peeve is they dont do super fine lines. But can spray lacquers and enamels without problems.
@OrcPainterNerd9 жыл бұрын
robi1nz They are superb airbrushes some of the best there is. you might want to look in to the Iwata custom range they do a Iwata custom micron CM-C and a CM-B both have super fine needle nozzle set ups and are pretty much the best super fine airbrush money can buy. I have both and they are amazing mate.

What was the air pressure set at during your test sprays? I just bought the Eclipse and plan to use it doing Cerakote on guns. My only concern is cleaning the airbrush since Cerakote is pretty tough stuff. You normally use Acetone to clean in up. What will Acetone do to the internal parts and rings in the Eclipse? Will it melt or break them down?

the star of the video has to be that mat that you disassembled the airbrush on. I've learned way more about plumbing that I ever wanted to because I've dropped my airbrush fluid nozzle in the sink drain. I think that mat might be the next airbrushing accessory I'm going to buy and never drop a nozzle in the garbage disposal again!

Toshi Silver lol it is a little star and deffinetly saves on the old "shit where did I drop the fluid nozzle" lol

I bought this to replace my Paasche Talon which gave me so much trouble
@BuggSmasher3 жыл бұрын
This is really interesting feedback because I currently own a Pasche VL and was thinking about an upgrade to a Talon ! But this looks like an all in one with a range from .3mm to 2" pattern. The VL comes with 3 different needles from memory, which I can't remember what size needle does what pattern size? But that will be resolved by getting an all in one needle airbrush with agreat range!

Hello, I would like to know if those fine strokes you make on the sheet is with the standard 0.3 needle that comes with the Iwata airbrush.
@unkhter9 жыл бұрын
nice review :) personally i got an iwata Kustom CS which is basically an eclipse with a larger cup and the eclipse is indeed a great airbrush, both in performance as in ease of cleaning :) they only thing i am not a fan of is the cut-out part (on any airbrush) but that's probably a matter of personal preference :D
@OrcPainterNerd9 жыл бұрын
unkhter I don't mind the cut out personally, but agree it is fantastic mate :)
@unkhter9 жыл бұрын
+Prabhjot Kalsi i used them both and they both have a similar spray pattern and usage. basically the kustom cs is an eclipse hp-cs with a larger cup and a pre-set handle, but it also make the Kustom a bit heavier to hold. it all depends on your personal needs and preferences: i bought the Kustom for larger airbrush works so that i didnt have to refill it every time, but for miniature work you might not need that and then the eclipse does the job similar to the Kustom. i have no idea about price difference, allready have mine for quite a few years now. quality wise they are very similar and also the result and spray pattern is identical from my experiences :)

I bought one today and i came with a weird little sheet with it which seems like to be a test spray? I been researching to see it its normal.. but i havent seen any one having that sheet during an unboxing ... i bought my eclipse hpcs. Came with 3 paints and a cleaner aswell as a little filter from hobby lobby for 149$

You need to explain the trigger assembly better. I did not see any explanation why the trigger piston needs to be inserted into the air cylinder. This should be obvious to the person familiar with the operation of an airbrush, but remember, you have included beginners in this review.

stay away from iwata their tiny noozle is worst design ever broke after I put it back. They also sell erasable ink which I thought is acrylic worst purchase ever.
