Hi Pete So in New Zealand a Pro Lite with any of the 3 set up’s will cost aprox $830 and that’s with free shipping from Australia . So from a previous review you did on the Kiwami4 1.3 , I decided to purchase off EBay for $330nzd out of Japan. Love this gun as a clear only gun. In the past month we’ve moved from PPG enviro to StandoBlue and this gun is a gem. Also have a Prolite 1.3 T10 amongst others , but this Kiwami is my new toy of the moment.actually the only reason I bought it was through nostalgia for my old W400 from years gone by. Both guns you compared are a solid option either way you look at it.

Hi Matthew, sounds like these in most places aren't as close price wise as they are in the UK, here the pro lite is more money but it's quite possible to pick one up, new on Ebay for around £260 to £320 GBP, the Kiwami4 is cheaper by around £100 but has no cup, when you add a cup the difference is £40 so not a lot. Comparing this to the £560 wanted for a Series2 WS400 none digital or Sagola 4600 at £480 or Walcom Evo at £660 the Devilbiss and Iwata are looking like bargains! Thanks for watching mate, much appreciated 👍

The Pro Lite is an older design gun and is holding out amongst the lead finish guns of today. It also can duplicate the factory finish easier by adjusting the psi up or down a few. I think the Kiwami flow coats acrylics easier but both are great guns. I'm not too happy with plastic parts in the Kiwami as that will wear out in short time. Thanks for sharing.

Another great job Pete. Cant really split them on the finish quality as you said. Really just comes down to user preference it seems. Even the material usage difference seemed marginal.

Thanks Ash, yes, not much in them at all, I'm always aware that people all over the world watch these things so it's often difficult as price obviously comes into it, the Devilbiss is more expensive but comes with a lot of extras in some places so may be better value in the end, cheers mate 👍

Hi Pete. New subscriber. I really like your videos, thank you. Curious, do you just let overspray land on everything? Or do you have strong fans and negative pressure pulling out the product from your shop space?
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, welcome and thanks for the Sub 👍 I don't have any ventilators filtering the air in only the air out, this is just a 700mm square box made of wood with a 600mm extraction fan inside, this vents outside through 100mm filter media that I buy in rolls. I use normal one extra fan that pushes air to the extraction unit, I still get overspray on virtually everything, anything i dont want it on get covered in cotton sheets which i wash every few weeks, most of it is tools and consumables and it lands dry so it just rubs off for the most part, not ideal by any means but it what i have, cheers 👍

Thanks Andrew, normally around 150mm, about the same with both of these , i normally spray a little closer with the Upol as it doesn't flow as well so it makes it wetter, with the Kapci i would normally give it another 15 to 25mm

Hi mate, no, the Sata cup doesn't fit, the cups that fit are as follows. 200ml Cup Iwata PCG 2P2 400ml Cup Iwata PC-G400P 600ml Cup Iwata PC-G600P-2 You can normally find these on Amazon and Ebay, they are not cheap which is what i meant in the video when saying the Devilbiss normally comes with more stuff but is more expensive, hope this helps 👍

Hi Pete, first off mate it's great to see you are getting more subscribers it's really well deserved I think you should have loads more for the good you do with helping others decide which guns they need👏👏👍 Ok so another great video and a good comparison, the Kiwami4 has a huge fan on it I always thought the GTI was big but compared the the Kiwami it's quite small. I've had my GTI ProLite for over 3 years and I've never had to change anything it's been flawless since the day I bought it, I had to change the air valve on one of my SRI guns and that was when it was fairly new so I think that any gun no matter the make can have problems, I guess you was just unlucky with your Kiwami Pete🤔👍 I can't split the finish between the 2 guns they both put out a nice flat coat of clear, both guns were plenty fast enough so really it's down to the price and the winner there is the Kiwami. Seeing the finish from the TE20 makes me want to try mine again I'll have to dig it out🙏🙏👍 Cheers Pete👊
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, yes, the Kiwami4 is the winner on price but it doesn't come with a cup which, if wanted is about £60 so they then get closer but they are both mid priced theses days, it sounds silly to say but it's true. Yes, would be interesting to see your work with the TE20, it's a great cap imo, cheers mate 👍

New subscriber here. Also, just received my Kiwami4, have not tried it yet. Wondering if the kiwami was turned down to the pro lites pattern, would it have less overspray and still perform well?
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Geo, I normally try and use a gun on full fan and fluid for clear, it's ultimately how the gun was designed, turning the fluid down would certainly slow it up and create less overspray but you would be spraying for longer so no real difference. Turning the fan in with full fluid would speed it up a little in with a smaller wetter pattern, problem with turning the fan in you tend to get slightly less atomisation, i think the cap is just less efficient like that, it's one of the reasons the Series2 Iwatas WS400 work better than the older one, because you can use full fan now. Thanks for the sub mate, much appreciated 👍

Hi Pete, great video mate as always, that’s an unusual colour it really changes as the sun light hits it. It seems to me that the Kiwami4 would be more suited to me with the way I spray I think 🤔 although I can see the benefit of the wetter pattern that the Devilbiss produces, This one I think boils down to how the sprayer sprays there paint, no good or bad with either of them, they both look like well made guns and with a seasoned painter like yourself that can tune the different spraying styles the gun produces can get the best out of both as you have done here. Hope this makes sense. Cheers Pete.

@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, yes, i see what you are saying and it has some substance to it, I think your probably right, they are both quite easy guns to use, the Devilbiss has more choices of caps etc but unless your in the US mostly they don't come with it which can make it much more expensive, thanks mate 👍
@bosshawg7427
@bosshawg7427 Жыл бұрын
I would dare say for the hobbyist the Kiwami is more practical with the lower cost while still having some ability to tune the gun to suit. The Devilbiss is more suited for a shop where finesse and paint savings are desired, plus the option to run a HVLP cap if required.
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy, to a degree yes, the Kiwami4 is cheaper but by how much depends where you are, it also doesn't come with a cup which are quite expensive should someone need one. The Devilbiss also comes with quite a few accessories in some markets, but i do agree with the way you have summed it up, cheers 👍

Hi Mitchell, I know it varies where people are, as far as i know in the US you get the Tekna in a kit with quite a few accessories like tips and 2 different caps and a cup. Another thing is the US Dollar is very strong at the moment so things from Japan seem cheaper than before, be interesting for me to know what the Tekna comes with, i presume there are various kit types available?, thanks for watching 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 yes Devilbiss markets the tekna in USA, it usually comes with 2 or 3 tip sets with or without cup and several air caps. Most versatile. I buy my spray guns directly from the UK or Japan if I want iwata. Less middle men to pay.
