I've been playing league for like 5-6 years now. Its the most vile player base i've ever experienced. I started out in bronze and im emerald now. Every game is filled with toxicuty, racism and negativity. nothing good comes out of chat. I play mute all because I tired of seeing it every game. If they forced chat or voice chat I would stop playing and I don't think I'm the only player like that out there.

The thing about the rank reset is that a very minor population experiences having to play more to reach a rank cos of less resets. For most of us, I think it will feel better that we have more time to climb, esp if you can only play a set amount of games cos you dont have time to play.

Voice comms would be less toxic. Hearing a voice humanizes someone, and prevents you from seeing an anonymous avatar to rage out when they lose you a game. There's lots of research on this topic. The reason there aren't voice comms is because the game is monetized by people being banned, creating new accounts, and buying their favorite skins again. Quit league = happier life. Always.

No matter what you think, you don't want to listen to your pisslow teammates' calls, and they won't want to listen to yours, so why bother with it? Dom all your arguments are from the perspective of a high elo player. You're old and intelligent enough to know that this is not and shouldn't be riots perspective. There are millions of players and 90% of them are not in emerald or challenger. League is an entirely different game and different experience in low elo. In high elo it might be beneficial to have more resets because everyone else also gets reset and there aren't infinitely many other players up there. In low elo thats not the case. When you don't have time to grind and you spend months to get from silver to gold just to get reset immediately afterwards, feels like you're wasting your time because you're not allowed to make progress. Same with communication. Try communicating with a million insecure, angry and frustrated teenagers. If riot would make it impossible to turn off communication I would uninstall the game really. The community is too toxic for that.

If u add ways for people to communicate and work together it’ll prevent tilt and negativity. lol is such a team game and riot implicitly acknowledges this when they restrict duo queue to those below masters. Being able to communicate effectively is such a huge advantage and improves the game. Although u could say everyone is nerfed since no one can use voice, I feel like that’s a bad argument since we could all play a better game if we were able to work together.

A single ranked season...oh good...the grind is back and possibly in the worst way because if they are using the previous model that will include the previous model's LP/Rank decay. Riot should tweak that system to add value to consistency of account interaction with ranked. So if an account hasn't played one ranked game in like 48hrs it begins to decay faster, scaling it up over time, an account after five consecutive days of no ranked activity should begin to rank decay faster still. Say you hit mid Challenger but quit for about a week...it would not be unreasonable after five consecutive days of no ranked activity to expect the next ranked game back to be Master/Grandmaster.

Dom, your idea of voice comms is really nice and cool when you look at it from your eyes. You are a Challenger player, that can consistently get to the top 0.1% of players, and most people up there have an idea on what to do in the game and could actually communicate useful things. The remaining 99.9% of the player base has to deal with the calls made by the 9 year hardstuck silver players that genuinely believe that Riot hates them for no reason, matchmaking is rigged against them and their team are holding them back from their true rank.
