Quite fond of mine, highly recommend using Jericho II magazines for it. The steel based 941 mags tend to be a little sharp and uncomfortable on the belt, and they stick out of the bottom awkwardly. The Jericho II mags have a polymer base and, more importantly, hold an extra round!

I used to have an older model as my work pistol as a security contractor 30 years ago. It was my first pistol and I had nothing to compare it to. I didn't like it back then. Now I think it was great. It's heavy, you can probably knock somebody out with it, but it was ergonomic, fit perfectly in my hand. Has rough edges so it makes holes in your tshirts if you conceal carry. If you practice a lot you need to either tape your hands or wear gloves because of the rough edges. But overall for what it is - a service pistol for cops and security guards etc - a perfect gun. Very accurate, all controls are in the right place. Only problem I had was some pins were starting to come out after several thousand rounds, so I had to bang them back in. I like it better than the full size Glocks, it's more ergonomic and for me more accurate. Magazine release and the magazines themselves are designed for Israeli style "claw it out and throw it on the ground" approach, which is perfect. Those are not novelty guns like the Desert Eagle, those are real workhorse guns. The trigger is great, single or double action - the reset was just perfect for me in rapid shooting. Not recommended for concealed carry but otherwise perfect for what it is.

@christophersmith9564 the main character of the misfit bounty hunters in space carried a Jericho, literally even in the opening intro to the show they show a silhouette of it zoomed in to almost full screen as he's aiming it to a dope song called "Tank!" Think cyberpunk the anime but made back in 1995! And with ALOT more humor and drůg use :)

Unfortunately this is the old model, can only find used presently. The '22 production changed barrel rifling/material, and went to a strange slide with endcap design thing.

I bought mine in 1993 when the safety/decocker was on the slide. I replaced the recoil spring with one that was capable of Handeling +p rounds. As the older models were not. Bad thing was I had to order the recoil spring from overseas and it took like 2 months to get here, and it was expensive. With Glock parts are more available.

Wife had a CZ-85, she is a lefty. Had problems with the frame cracking where the right side slide release is. The metal is just machined too thin for the right side slide release. Had CZ replace the gun twice under warranty. Finaly got the wife to train to use only the one side controls and got rid of the CZ 85. She now has a CZ 75 stainless, which has ambi safety and standard slidelock. Have not had a problem since.

It is not an Israeli Improved CZ-75. It's a re-shaped Tanfoglio who also made the Witness for EAA, and are now imported independently by The Italian Firearms Group. You can call the Witness, or its predecessor, the TZ-75, a clone of the CZ-75, but it used a modified trigger system that many prefer over the CZ-75. Originally, when they were IMI and now IWI, the Israelis imported parts from Tanfoglio in Italy to build the Jericho.

I've been thinking about getting one of these, but I'm not sure about availability of spare parts here in Austria. How many rounds can you realistically put through this gun before needing any replacement?
@OldGrayCzechWolf9 ай бұрын
Depends on how hot a load you are shooting. Recoil springs need changeing out every 800 to 1000 rounds on some guns. CZ say to switch recoil springs every 5K rounds. Most other parts (eg extractor) should last 10K rounds or more.

Israel didn't improve jack shit over the CZ. All they did was have an Italian manufacturer (Tanfoglio) produce one of their clones for them. All they did was tweak the aesthetics. Even the "Made in Israel" rollmarks are a lie; the parts are all still made in Italy by Tanfoglio and merely assemble in Israel. IWI... the company that designs the aesthetics of guns before actually engineering them (looking at you, Tavor). That said, I have two Jerichos and absolutely adore them. I wouldn't call them improvements to the CZ design at all, but rather aesthetically different copies. In fa t, they're quite a bit heavier for better and worse. I like them every bit as much as my CZs, but truth is important.
