The videos are really good, but we really need more close up guys … it's very hard to see everything when its a far shot, the entire video should be a close up in my opinion.

Thanks for the video. This was such a nice upgrade. One of the things I like about the original Tavor is its rotating charging handle, so now that the X95 has this too, it's perfect. Well, as perfect as it can be without the original round IDF handguard....

I liked that charging handle, but after I installed the BLK LBL handguard it broke, and i couldnt find a replacement, so I upgraded to the manticore folding one. (I think the handguard knocked to hammerhead out of alignment with the pin on the charging handle.) I've since removed the hammerhead as well. Don't know if I would have done all that had the handle not broken, though.

Why am I watching a tutorial on a system I don't have? Because the X95 is that cool. I held one at a store in Bend around 2015 and was impressed with the feel, balance, design & weight. I would definitely buy one if I had the capital.

How many times can that cross bolt be removed and reinstalled without wearing out the threads on the bolt or the nut on the body? Also are there specific torque specs when reinstalling that cross bolt?

Very nice video. I do have some questions though. I am trying to convert my 5.56 X95 to a "left handed" charging handle (like an AK or Galil) while keeping the rest of the weapon in the right handed configuration. Pg 51 of the manual outlines the procedure for doing this but includes an "opposite hand barrel unit (pg 83)" note for the 5.56 versions. Pg 83 doesn't go into detail on what that entails. Can you please explain this point? Additionally, I have read some conflicting accounts online about the reliability of the X95 when the charging handle is in the "opposite configuration" relative to the rest of the gun. Is that the case? or is there an implied or vague step in the process that some people are missing that is effecting the performance of the rifle? Thank you,

To my understanding I have the x95 gen 4. as long as you flip the dust cover and pop to totally unnecessary pin blocking the right port for the charging handle on the carrier you're all good I did mine 2 days ago and inspected the barrel and and carrier to be sure. Found no reason to cause issue

Got my factory new one from CDNN Sports three weeks ago and it came with the older style charging handle on it. So be aware that some online retailers have some older stock laying around. Honestly though I think I prefer the previous revision charging handle more. It's less complex (less to break) and it doesn't flop around loosely when you shake the rifle.

@@chimneypro Yes as is mine. You'd think this fellow in the video would tell us the serial number that began the generation of guns with the improvement. So how about it IWI, What was the first serial number X-99 that has the new modified charger?
@mmiski5 жыл бұрын
@@usethenoodle, no need to take it apart. You can tell the difference visually (from the outside of the rifle). New one is slightly longer, slightly angled forward, and has a forward assist feature (the serated crescent-shaped button behind it). The old one was just a simple single-piece design.

My gen 4 charging handle doesn't completely seat in the forward position if the charging is not allowed to slam forward is this normal or is it out of alignment. If I slightly ride it forward it does not engage into the collar. Any advice?
@SpytheGSD5 жыл бұрын
I've had the "newest" charging handle for awhile. It will require some force to fully seat the BCG after initial installation of the new charging handle. After quite a few reps with the new handle; it should seat fully no matter how softly you ride the bolt. I polished all contact surfaces to a mirror finish as well. I hate the "new" style charging handle because it has more moving parts which has the potential to cause more problems (such as the ones we have both encountered) and it slaps my wrist because I put my thumb over the top rail. Needless to say, I switched back to the "old" style charging handle after running the "new" for a year.

@@SpytheGSD, thanks for that info. Was initially upset when my brand new one came with the older style charging handle. But after seeing the complexity of the newer design and how it flops around loosely on the rifle, I'm starting to think I should be thankful I got the older one.

Any ETA on a fully squared away domestic factory? Same thing FN Herstal did with FN America. Spare parts and services that need the industrial tooling have been nonexistent for years. Sure, intellectual property and engineering can always remain leading from Israel, that's fine, but the US market is really underserved. Maybe partner up with INDUMIL to establish some logistics lines? Spare parts and ACE barrel presses, gentlemen... Either way, get all needed production and refitting tooling capability to the US. Barrel conversion kits for the Tavor series were promised but never delivered and spare parts kits are never in stock. Start making everything domestically and crank out parts. IWI is beautiful and my go to brand, but parts, guys. PARTS.

THIS IS IWIs PAGE AND YOU NEVER REPLY TO YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS WHO PAID $1800 DOLLARS FOR A FLAWED SYSTEM. Tom you even state in the video this cocking bar was already available when you sold the first so called generation X95. The cocking bar that is in the rifle I have now will not remove a live round in the chamber. Is the chamber too tight or is the cocking bar too weak? How about I return my rifle under warranty under warranty for a chamber out of spec and you install this new cocking bar for free. When will the top rail height issue be addressed?
@thomasalibrando72785 жыл бұрын
There was nothing wrong with the bar we used. The original IDF handle was difficult to charge for some people, so we adopted the regular straight charging handle. They have that in Israel as well. It was finally refined to have the best of both worlds in the Gen 4. It's not flawed, it just provides additional leverage. The top rail is not going to be changed on this generation. If you use lower 1/3 co witness height sights, there is not an issue that I've seen. That's what the Mepros issued in Israel are.
@PLT-dq3dd5 жыл бұрын
@@thomasalibrando7278 Thanks for reply. However I respectfully disagree on rail height, if not a problem why are there companies selling top rail replacements? I used the Aimpoint T1 with the 1/3 height mount and got sick of smooshing my face into stock. As well as that set up does NOT cowitness with the folding sights on the rifle. I fixed it by purchasing a higher mount from Geissle. I will end on a positive and say the internet benchrest sniper crowd have no idea how accurate the X95 is in field conditions.
@rockelino5 жыл бұрын
PLT 2080, I have an X95 too. If your bolt carrier group does not extract a live round from the chamber, then you have a problem with your bolt, not cocking bar. Don't email, just call IWI support, and get an RMA. They will pay for the shipping (both ways) and fix your issue. I had my gun for over a year, so I have the "standard" cocking bar and have no issues with removing rounds from the chamber, etc. Good luck.
@iamcondescending5 ай бұрын
@PLT-dq3dd there are taller top rails available because certain people can't figure out what "lower 1/3" means. I have a lower 1/3 sight on mine that perfectly co-witnesses the irons. I don't know how all the people who are complaining about the rail height are shooting, but I've yet to have to "smoosh my face" into the gun to shoot. I get a normal cheek-bone-to-stock cheek weld and can comfortably see my sights.

Just out of curiosity, why would I want to add more hardware to the barrel of a rifle that has already proven itself inaccurate?
