I just got the Streamlight Protac 2 for my X95. I stumbled on a different way to mount it. First, I removed the right and bottom rail panels. I attached the light to the rail on the right side with the included mount. The tape switch then slides in and fits perfectly in the groove below the rail, and the bottom rail panel slides over the bottom of the switch and locks it in place. It does not move at all. Then I twisted the wire around the body of the light, no twist ties or anything else needed. It is now easily reached by both hands. Perfect. Thanks for the video!

If you look closely at the Tavor sar you will notice a round button of sorts on the forward grip. This round spot about the size of a dime is for the installation of a push button switch for a light. You just remove the grip and install the button switch, run the two attachment wires to the light and reinstall the grip. You can get the button switch online. This was the system the IDF uses on the real Tavor.

We used several flashlights. The Inforce, Surefire X300NV and the Streamlight Protac light.

My assessment after watching this video: There are no optimal solutions - only adequate options for illumination. What the X95/Tavor desperately needs is a platform specific lighting system. One that will accommodate the eccentricities of the IWI bullpup design without adding extra bulk. Stay classy my friends.

Why dont you or someone else make a light that has the button integration in the tavor on the foregrip area?

Actually the SAR Tavor has a button hole on the left side of the OEM foregrip, there a removable plug in it from the factory. I believe the switch that would normally be there in the actual IDF Tavors were there to activate the MARS sights. (going off fuzzy memory on that here) Guy on e-bay sells the switch and you just splice the wire coming off the light onto the wire off the switch. He even includes heat shielding for the wiring to protect it from barrel heat. I actually bought one but never got around to installing it. Too many other project at the moment. Here's a link to the switch www.ebay.com/itm/IWI-tavor-grip-switch-fore-end-for-light-laser-optics-torch-Waterproof-NR/183101122108?epid=1631897758&hash=item2aa1ad663c:g:7PoAAMXQeKNTLCwT:rk:1:pf:0

My x95 has a wire channel on the grip area and trigger guard. Do they not make pressure switch grip panels for this? Not exactly sure what the wire management channels are for. They look very deliberate.

What kind of Velcro did you use to mount the pressure switch on the SAR? I just got an SAR in 300 BK with a Streamlight as in your video. I purchased an extra fore grip (in case I screw up) - I was planning on drilling holes in the fore grip and mounting the pressure switch lower than you show - the back plate of the switch is probably plenty strong enough, but it will be sitting on top of the vertical ridges on the fore grip. It would be nice if the ridges weren't there so the pressure switch back plate would have full contact against the gun. BTW - not much of a fan of the new X95 (I have a couple of the SARs) Hate to see the SAR go away - it could use a few tweaks on the fore grip for mounting lights, but other than that, I have no complaints with the "old" model! I've also been after IWI for a couple of years to come out with a 22LR version of the Tavor! If they don't want to produce, maybe get someone like Walther to make it under license, as they do with the Beretta ARX 160 in 22LR.

Its the one that was provided with the light. Very grippy in all temps. Seems to work well. After a year of constant use or so, it needs to be replaced. There is a screw on option, but I'm not willing to drill into the body of the Tavor.

Thanks - I'll have to double check my Streamlight as I didn't see any Velcro in the blisterpack. Mebbe I overlooked it or they don't include any more? My Streamlight did come with Picatinny mounts for the pressure switch. AFA drilling, I was going to mount the pressure switch lower than in your video - will be strictly on the fore grip (and I have a spare) as that's the only place I'm willing to drill. Now, get on your bosses and tell them we need a 22LR version of the SAR!

Here is another option. The inforce at 6 o'clock I actuate with the buckle of my pointer finger. Doesn't block anything and in line with the barrel. And it is ambi. I can send you a pic if you leave your email below.
