Both the red drop top in the beginging and the frost fire is a product of Svempas. Svempa started with tow trucks in the sixties which he customized by him self to stand out in the streets of Stockholm (everyone remembers the chromed out towtruck) Then he went all in on building show trucks and developing factory made custom kits for Scania.

14:55 that blue color scheme is kinda required since its a "emergency" vehicle from Germany, all their equipment is blue with white highlights from something called THW which is roughly translated into technical help department, they usually field stuff like large mobile cranes, towed water pumps etc... closest thing you would have in the states would be something like FEMA

Hey Ian, not super related to the video content, but I have to agree with your comments about Norway. My family and I drove a rental car from Oslo to Bergen which at times, took us underneath the mountains. Each time we reached a tunnel, we had a competition to see if you could hold your breath through the entire tunnel. Then we got to one that was 28km long! With a speed limit of 60kph, it took almost half an hour to get through. At two points there were even round-a-bouts with tunnels heading off in different directions. It is another world my friend. Keep up your awesome vids man!

The white tanker Scania with the Amber lights is actually not a real T cab model but a later COE version that has been modified by VLASTUIN , a famous Dutch Firm that makes Torpedo's out of modern Euro trucks (mostly Scania , some Volvo) This model was the 2nd version !

The "Super" on Scania trucks refers to their turbo charged in-line 6 engines. The FrostFire is a concept experiment gone wild.
@tommeiner99835 күн бұрын
Well it used to, back in the 60's. Then it just became a trend to put that badge on almost all customized Scanias. Then recently Scania themselves have reintroduced it to signal their new inline 6 engine. But the truck in the video doesn't have that engine.
@ontheroadagain47733 күн бұрын
Scania used the "Super" enblem on ALL their turbocharged trucks from 1961, when the first turbocharged DS10 engine was introduced in the model 75, until the 2-series was introduced in 1980. All diesels in the 2-series (except for the smallest D8 engine, that still was available in a non-turbo version) had turbo engines so there was no longer any reason to put the "Super" emblem on them. The vast majority of the 140 and all of the 141 series trucks had turbo V8 and they had the "Super" on them.
@axelk49215 күн бұрын
On the subject of FROSTFIRE special edition... The "Frostfire" is unique and you can buy 50 "Frost" and 50 "Fire" trucks I don't know that much about it, but SCANIA had a well-known truck tuner in Sweden build a special edition with this year's theme of Frost & Fire But you should ask Bruce Wilson, he was in the Scania factory museum and got to know the tuner personally

Trucker here: That bucket is our home for the larger part of the week. So my truck is more my home than my home is my home. My tiny flat for once could just as well be a heated storage unit with a mattress, a sink, internet and a microwave. 😅 Company trucks usually are pretty stock, apart from some easily removable personal stuff like cushions, blankets and the like. But "independent" contractors, who have to provide their own rig, are free to do with it as we please.. we technically can go as crazy as our sick minds reach. As long as we keep the paint job to a sensible neon yellow; we sort of do represent our single employer after all. 🙌🏻 What you would would spend on getting your house a new coat of paint or a new dining room set, we invest in a nice paint job for the truck and some comfy and purpose-driven interior.. 😁

Super originally signaled Scania's turbocharged engines in the 60's. On most trucks it's just a tribute to those old models. It's only recently that Scania reintroduced the "Super" name to signal their new inline 6 engines. But the truck in the video is a 6 series, so it just has the older ("non Super") inline 6.
