WHERE IS NEPHI FROM?
I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City in the Philippines but in the recent years I have been moving and living in different countries like Singapore, Japan and the US due to the nature of my work. I was in the US when I started this channel but I am currently in Indonesia thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
MUSICAL BACKGROUND
Former band vocalist of Akita performing at K-Pub in Ayala Cebu, Philippines (2019-2020)
Former band vocalist of Big Three Band performing in Yokohama 7, Yokohama, Japan (2014-2016).
Former member of the Filipino Voice Symphony (2010-2011) where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our singing group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
Former university choir and singing trainer at Technological University of the Philippines Visayas.
WHAT IS THE GREATER GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.

Yes, Merauke is a region in Papua, far in the east side of Indonesia. Btw yess, he's so similar with Glenn Fredly. Yoshua cover Glenn's song in PON Papua Closing Ceremony (same stage with Ariel Noah)

I always crying when see he sang, Nephy, Coz Father's Joshua didnt agreed that Joshua to be a singer, His Father was an Army, and he want his Son to be like him too... so Joshua run away to Makasar coz he choosed be a singer ... Not just he has a beautiful husky voice and emotion. His stage presence, like mimic, gestures and how he say each word of the lyric portray the story of the song. He is a talented singer for sure!

Just like Annuar Zain, Iyan Yoshua is very Marc Anthony. I searched him after watching his performance last month and he actually has many albums out in the past. A pretty established singer. Some singles are really good.
