IZRUCHANKA - NORTH BULGARIA
"Izruchanka" is a dance from "Severnyashka" (Northern) folklore region in 2/4 time.
Video by Bulg Folk.
North Bulgarian dances are characterized by wide movements, free swinging of the arms and many jumps. The jumpy character is conditioned by the former joy and enthusiasm of the northerners for life, which forces them not to walk calmly, but to run and jump, thus expressing their feelings and happy emotions.
The movements of the dances in the Danube settlements are also characterized by the drawing, expressed in the vibration of the upper part of the body and the shoulders. Whirlwind and dynamics are expressed in many northern dances. These features are very well emphasized in the straight dances (in 2/4 time), which are distinguished by their jumpiness and vitality.
