Hi, when the voice activation is on, is it smart enough to just record human voice or does it turn on and stay on with traffic noise or ambient noise? Thanks

It will turn on with ambient noises, not smart enough to detect just a human voice.

I’m having a serious problem I keep the recorder constantly on and it keeps starting new recordings. Why?? I even shut off Bluetooth itself to see if this would help. I just want one long recording

I would have to look at the manual again, but I think it had a record limit due to file sizes.

What is battery life ? How long can itvrecird continually until the battery dies?

Do I have to connect it to wifi and keep connected while it is recording? Does my phone need to be around? I would like to use it for my home to make sure on my nanny. If I put it on to voice detection and just leave it the room, will it still record? As I understand, I will need to be in person to stop it from recording and retrieve files. Correct?

You can turn it on and leave it, but yes you would need to have your phone with you to retrieve the files. Turn it on via the devices not the phone it would stop recording once it looses the app connection.
