Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 12 series globally, but in Nigeria we're only getting the Redmi Note 12 4G and Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, at least for now. The Redmi Note 12 4G looks like the best in terms of value seeing that it comes at a price point below its predecessor. It might arguably be the best phone for its price, but there are some reservations, and it's probably not quite the upgrade you're looking for.

adaptive brightness issue is not a problem, it's a feature in which you adjust it and it remembers your setting for that surrounding light condition.

I think the 120hz is still 120hz and not just on paper. That's just MIUI being buggy. I believe it'll be stable after a few updates. That's their way.

No it won't!!.. I will never buy a Redmi phone ever again.. I rather get the Galaxy S10+ from 2019.. I don't give a shit about that dumb 120hz... I feel they just threw in that number just to get some attention as we all know the Snapdragon 600 series is too weak for any of that high refresh rate nonsense..😅

@@darlingtonodirah8926 so far so good for a 4/128gb variant, I'm enjoying it. Got another update about 2 weeks ago that further fix some bugs. I always do factory reset after every updates and I haven't experienced the bugs I experienced prior to the latest version of MIUI 14 on the device. I reckon that you won't have issues considering that you are getting the 8gb variant.

It has Virtual RAM. It lags because the processor is either not properly optimised, or the software is holding it back

I just got mine today and noticed the earpiece port at the top of the phone is gaping open and you can see the inside form it. Please am I the only one with this issue? Please fellow owners help me check and confirm cos I paid full price for this and don't expect it to come with any defects.

There is literally little to no animation while swiping to the home screen. The animation looks like that from an old 2gb ram Tecno device and it's not nice tbh. Sd 685 does better so what actually is the problem? ...and there's no way that's a 120Hz display, NO WAY!😂

I've given the Note 12 its flowers. You just chose to nitpick the fact that I mentioned flaws. . RAM is for memory management. A 4GB RAM phone should only stutter if I have too many apps open. It's the optimisation, the RAM has very little to do with the glitches I encountered. Me stating it might be the RAM is giving room for the possibility that it should be better and might just be mine. And before you argue, note that iPhones have been using 4GB RAM until recently. It's the processor and software optimisation that's responsible for speed and smoothness

As someone who uses the phone 1) its decent price for decent midrange gaming for emulation etc 2) for daily use, ITS HORRIBLE, the cpu is deliberately been made bad to make the more expensive models better, the cpu makes simple things such as bank verifying where you need to use window apps open impossible as the memory reloads the app even if off for NO JOKE 5 seconds

Considering the minimal upgrades to the processor, a slightly bigger and brighter screen with a slightly higher refresh rate and then the downgrade to a mono speaker, there's barely any difference between this and the Note 11. If anyone were to ask me, I would recommend the Note 11 instead because there's very little to warrant buying the new phone.

Note 12 will beat note 11..... People make mistake selling their 11s to get a base 12 version, and start complaining note 12 is rubbish blh blah blah. that is a downgrade. For fair comparison compare 11 to 12, and 11 pro with 12 pro then u will see that they never made a mistake with the 12 device.. The only slight mistake was the absent of stereo speaker, it has a mono speaker.
