He may have been a great guy but his morals and kindness went with him. The company is a machine now and everything and everybody is just a number. Fact!

JB Hunt and Mrs. Hunt have a very inspirational story.

I drove for JB Hunt back in 86. I talked to him 3 or 4 times. He would walk up to the drivers and shake our hand and ask us if we were making any money. I was waiting in line to take a shower one time at the Springfield, Ohio terminal. He had just bought the place and it wasnt remodeled yet. I was asleep in my chair at the table about 2AM and JB woke me up to talk with me. He liked 7 Up and he always had one each time we would talk. He was always wearing a suit and his white cowboy hat. He was a great Christian guy and very polite. It seemed like every driver on the CB radio back then had something nasty to say about the JB Hunt Company simply because they were jealous of his success. My Mother used to say “People throw rocks at things that shine”. It certainly was true.

She says the days before deregulation were tough? Really? When we had regulation you didn't have millions of cut rate fly by night operations playing race to the bottom. Rates were real good before deregulation

What this story doesn't say is that back when truck carriers were forming relationships with the railroads,Mr.Hunt was against to putting any of his equipment on any railroad, In 1972 the President of the then Santa Fe railroad invited Mr.Hunt on his business rail car for lunch,that same year Mr.Hunt signed an agreement with the Santa Fe and the rest is history.

@jbhunttransport8 жыл бұрын
Hi @Cowbody Kody, A lot has happened with J.B. Hunt since 1990! The company has grown and expanded its offices across the United States, as well as offering top technology and shipping solutions that simplify freight logistics for shippers and carriers. Thanks for asking! Hope you have a great day!

im sorry to say that i am alittle disappointed in this, my father and uncle gave 30+ years on the road with JB hunt even at the costs of their own familes their driving numbers was 21 and 22, the twins they should of at least been mentioned in this :(
@gearjammer47796 жыл бұрын
Jason Whitman You forgot to mention that the 30 years that your father and uncle “gave” to JB Hunt that JB Hunt “gave” them a paycheck every single week . Dont make it sound like JB Hunt stole something from them.
