"... still gon be me when success gone..." thats super deep especially to people that have been up and down and never changed, money dont dictate your character, J Cole is literally a perfect example of that.

it's the story of Sisyphus, pushing the rock up the hill just for it to roll back down. We're always pushing forward and Cole's music is a good reminder of that.

2011 he blessed my ears. Had no idea who he was. Just scrolling thru my homies music playlists on his PS3 when I was staying with him. Run across an untitled playlist, beautiful music. Listened to it all the time when my homie would go to work. Two years later my roommate buys Born Sinner. Still have no idea who J Cole was. He played it and it was a wrap. I look him up and what do I find out? Sideline Story was the untitled playlist on my homies PS3. Looked up his mixtapes. Has been my favorite artist since. Kendrick's lyrical delivery may be sharper, Drake may drop pop bangers but Cole's ability to make you want to search your soul; to connect to aspects of your life and to motivate to want personal growth is greatness that is just unmatched. My mans is number one in my book. -Born Sinner, Was never Born to be Perfect

Yes I first heard him like 2009-2010 area, my old home boy was a music head that had all the hidden gems,, he played his song from "the warm up" and I fell in love with him since. It's crazy how fast time went and he is still the best to me.
