this is one of the most perfectly composed cole verse ever. this song dropped on jan 28th, which is cole's birthday and that's why he started with "on the day i was born" bar and he continued his simba persona with the line " the real one's here the ypung boy that walk with lions, around the outlines of chalk where the corpses are lyin" amd then after a couple lines after he says he ain't as comfortable with lyingx he follows it up with "stretching the truth, i never stress in the booth, they feel to pressure me, i feel like i just left the masseuse " in which he is implying that he is the truth (goes inline with that simba bar) and he was relaxed. after a couple lines he says, "he the last of mohicans no weaklings last my sneakers" the last of mohicans is a movie about a mohican tribe escorting british people and only the main character survives and declares himself the last of mohicans. and after that he says " nigga wants me on a song he gon see the wrath of the reaper," in which he implies 2 meanings. the first one being that cole himself is the reaper and the second being he'd kill the feature so hard that the person featuring him might actually die and see the death reaper. and then he follows it up with " ill prolly go to hell, if jesus asked for a feature " also intending to mean 3 things. first, and the obvious one is he'd even outrap jesus himself. 2nd is he'd murder the beat so hard that it might be considered a sin and he might go to hell for it. and 3rd is cole's previous no feature policy, and that he'd choose going to hell than having even Jesus on his song. and then he says " some see the glass as empty, i see a glass full of ether" ether was a compound that einstein used to come to the theory od relativity, and this bat is also a double entendre as ether is Nas' track where he bodied Jay. and then he follows up with "Collecting his bread in mass, like he a catholic preacher" this is also a double entendre, as the obvious meaning being collecting moneyand securing the back but it also references to the previous Nas bar since nas' label is called Mass Apeal and he makes a lotta bag from it. and then after a couple bars he says " Einsten on the brink of the theory of relativity really no MC equal" and he says really as (Real-E) implying he the only real one, and this bar also references the previous ether bar and even references the start of benny's verse where he says "this ain bout my story of rags to riches, more about how i mastered physics" and he finishes it up with referencing the killing the artist bar by saying "headshot go and ask the best rappers that died, they'll tell you he never lied" Elite writing from Cole, one of his all time verses for sure.
