Thank goodness I was able to see them many times at their peak.....Holiday Inn in Lexington in the early to midseventies. For the price of a Miller High Life I was able to hear some of the best musicians in the world! This album truly captures their greatness.

That hotel is still there (though its now a Clarion). I used to work there and I remember hearing folks talk about hearing JD Crowe play on that little stage in the bar back in the 70s.

Went to UK in the early 70's and saw these guys on North New Circle. It was a great show and a great time.

+Parker Moore That's so we can play along on the old flattop. It allows us to tune it down, creating less string tension and generating less fear of pulling more belly at the bridge of a forward braced guitar. Also it allows us to forgo a neck reset for another tax refund or two. Either that or to avoid digital copyright issues.
