Saw this performance last night in Los Angeles and I must say this cast is exceptional, but thank God J. Daughtry has this song to showcase his beautiful voice, probably best in this perfect cast.

Absolutely loved his performance...he stole the show! His “Bui Doi” was amazing. Very clean and clear! I’ve heard this song over done (too much riffing) but he let the message lead! BRAVO Mr. Daughtry!

I'm glad they've gotten rid of the vocal histrionics that other recent Johns have used when singing this song. It's a plea, not a gospel revival and sounds so much better when sung straight. I'm seeing this cast in a few months and I can't wait.

I saw him live a couple of years ago and he's ruined every other version of this song for me. They all fall short. Such a great performance. I'd go see it again live if only to hear this song.
