The intro to this song is killer. It's amazing to me that this band is over 50 years old and the music is fresh and better than the crap on the radio now. Just goes to show that good music transcends time.

Got to watch them as they were coming up. Playing small clubs in and around Boston. Super guys. Always had time to chat with fans between sets. Also knew their fans back in those days; if the club was crowded and you could make eye contact from the door, they'd wave you in. Also nice when you bumped into them at a nearby restaurant after a show. Pleasant, accessible people. Glad they made it. Miss those days. Was so lucky.
@craiglayton34912 жыл бұрын
I was lucky to have seen them a number of times. I don't know who was more exhausted at the end of one of their shows, the band or the crowd. Both always gave it everything they had. And somehow that joke of an organization the rock and roll hall of fame will enshrine Dolly Parton over these guys! Yeah right.

Why didn't Stephen Jo not return to ever play Live with the J Geils band after 1982( cept DK's 60th birthday bash)? The man was Exhausted from the J Geils Band's brutal touring for 15 years to stay afloat economically! He was Beat! Since this band almost exclusively had to exist economically by playing Live dates, over and over, colleges and small venues, till Finally Freeze Frame hit and the subsequent massive success. Peter Wolf? Seth Justman? Magic Dick Salwitz? John Geils? Danny KLein? NO!!!!! Stephen JO BLADD on the Skins---WAS--The HEART and SOUL of this Band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shake your hand Stephen, through this comment, wherever you are this day. You KILLED it and DROVE this band----EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. We love you Stephen Jo

I've seen hundreds of concerts over the last 45 years. Sometime as a fan, sometimes working a venue. This was hands down the best live band that I have seen...and I've seen a lot. If they were touring in the 70's/80's, I saw them. Today, it seems like performers have to have dancers, light show, pyrotechnics, and a whole lot of flash to put on a show (yeah, I know, old guy ranting) without a whole lot of substance.

A shame of the blurry lack of exact visual acuity of these PRICELESS rare film footage. Stephen Jo Bladd's pure poetic Precise PRECISION on drums and cymbals, with his TRUE exciting showmanship( a major crux of this band at their live shows) may be lost forever. BUT, not in my grey celled cranial cavity!! Not till I die, will they be lost forever. Period

These guys were really something else ! I wish they had better stage monitors, or in-ear monitors back then, you can kinda tell that they can’t hear themselves singing together or singularly. I remember the days of mega loud stages and crackling wedge monitors. Nonetheless this band was just a blast to see live. Party boys Inc !
