J-Hope is a member of BTS. He's the main dancer and one of the rappers of the group. It's pretty common within Kpop groups for members to pursue their own personal projects while still being part of their groups. All BTS members have had their own solo projects and this is especially true for the rappers who usually release their full mixtapes on Soundcloud for free. hello! thank for another rxn! did you know J-Hope (he’s a member of BTS), in this track, samples a popular hook (Chicken Noodle Soup by DJ Webstar & Bianca Bonnie) that started a dance craze in the mid 2000s? J-Hope started as a street dancer and CNS of 2000 was one of his influences. And oh, the original artists were reportedly paid USD 2.7M in royalties by J-Hope/BigHit. 😀

The reason J-Hope brought this song back is cos Chicken Noodle Soup was the 1st dance he learned properly in Korea (that's how global this song was, astonishing!) when he was a kid, so he has an enormous amount of affection for it. It played a huge & crucial part of his story, of him joining a dance crew & later joining BTS. He said on his livestream that this track & MV was an ode & labor of love to dance & to those that inspired him. He gifted this track to the world for FREE, while MAKING SURE he CREDITED the ORIGINAL CREATORS, ALL 2.7M of it! How generous is J-Hope to his fans?! He did this track from his heart without putting $$$ first, how many artists do that these days! I love this track for so many reasons, which is why I chose to buy it even tho it was for free, cos I believe artistry shud be rewarded. A free track made it to #81 on the Billboard Hot 100, a FREE track, cos many fans chose to buy it to say thank u! x

Fun Fact #1 there are 6 entertainment agencies that are the players in Korea. BIG HIT is now TWICE as big than all the others agencies combined. The other agencies have over 50 groups in their stables. BIG HIT until earlier this year, just had BTS. That's one group. BTS hadn't signed their contract so BIG HIT developed another group called TXT and they brought in a girl group called Girlfriend. Now BIG HIT has 3 groups.
