Very interesting video. I have heard the term 'ecological approach' but never new what it's about. I very much agree with the idea of us humans existing as a whole rather than us being just a brain and everything else is just accessories! In fact there are studies that prove how relevant other parts are even in memory and decision making, specially the heart.

came here from your cog load critique video, but tbh i don't see how such absolutely general assumptions lead to any concrete, practical consequences in learning / teaching. all the more i'll be looking forward to videos you might make regarding that.

Totally understand that! I have a long video essay which should cover the theory in greater depth. Applying the ideas to practice will be expressed in future videos. The constraints led approach to coaching, representative practice design, and designing with affordances in mind are concepts that might be worth exploring. 😁
