absolutely Quantz to a T orchestra and soloists answering each other- just delightful.

I had the fortune to attend the final repetition as well as the actual concert in the MPH hall. It was inspiring and great to hear and see these two flutists Andrea Oliva and Hristo Dobrinov work together with cordiality and good humour. The conductor Naohisa Furusawa is also an excellent guidance and worth noticing in this and other performances. The only drawback of this You Tube is the lack of attention for the excellent bassoonist and the grainy quality that has been published of this superb concert.

It's a shame the bassoonist is almost permanently out of picture. He provides most of the continuo and makes a great sound.

With my new orchestration of the concerto indeed I gave big part to the bassoon that originally isn’t there.I am glad you have noticed. However the filming is as always out of the performers hands. If you like Alexander’s playing,there is a video of both of us playing on my chanel. Hope you’ll enjoy it seeing him there

@@vonirotsi Thank you for this information. I first heard a Quantz flute concert in 1980 and there was never much recorded to listen to. I have always wanted to hear more and this is a great find. No hurry at all, but what else did you do in your re-orchestration?
@vonirotsi2 жыл бұрын
@@edwardhoward5525 my reply is late. Sorry for that.I basically reorganized the complete score with better voicing and also gave separate part to the 1st and 2nd violins as well as bassoon and cello different functions in the entire piece supporting the structure as needed to give both flutes slightly different colors.
