Yes, check your facts. Even Phillip stated the song he had was not something he would record as his own. Jessica also stated she had to alter what was given to her so it was even weaker than what was there. But with only a day to prepare, it is much easier to alter a good song than one that was weak. Phillip had songs that were better offered to him, and he still didn't think it was his style. Last I checked they gushed over Phillip too.

Stage presence is not about moving around. It's about charisma and having 'presence', like you know how some people just have that ability to catch everyone's eye? They walk in a room and people take notice. It's not looks, it's having a special quality, a charismatic kind of quality. Like Bill Clinton was charismatic and Obama is too, it's just the X factor. First off I'm a 100% Phillip fan! It's only some Jessica fans and they don't even hate him. They hate that he won! Doesn't matter to them what Jessica thinks or feels AT ALL. It was ONLY about the WIN! If they were TRUE fans they would read all her interviews like I have, and support her.. I don't have a bad thing to say about Jessica being a major Phillip fan! I'm done voting for AI. I now realized no one can beat teenage voters. The pattern is obvious: WGWG as they say. Jessica was set-up for failure. They gave her an ugly song that I don't think anyone will sound good singing it. They gave Phillip a song that perfectly suits his voice, gave him nice song production, and the judges gave him standing ovation - on a very simple song. They also didn't let Jessica sing her most successful song which is either "I'll always love you" or "I have nothing."

Phillip won because teenage girls thought he was cute Duh! the fact that Jessica is only 16 years old & her talent is so beyond her years made people feel threatened, there was nothing special about Phillips performances even though he sang different songs week after week it got boring & it was all the same. Jessica kept it fresh doing up beat tempo songs, to slow ballads & killed it every time! the judges saved Jessica because she's Amazing they would not have saved Phillip if he got voted off!

I remember when she critiqued Phillips on the finale after he performed "Movin' out" she said: "I've have seen Jessica performed The Prayer before... and i felt like [movin' out] was authentic Phillip right there" I totally flipped out when she said that! Phillip performed that just weeks before whereas Jessica picked a song from Vegas Week!!!

both phillip and jessica are artists. phillip is a singer songwriter and he connects with the audience. jessica is an amazing singer with so much soul and passion. they're both amazing but people always feel like the best singer has to win but i think it's not just the voice that wins. both i feel like have the full package.

C'mon.. that's just petty. Even though I voted for Phillip since the beginning and am a big fan of his, I never once put down any of the other idols - especially Jessica. And I wouldn't. She has an amazing voice, but so does Phillip, in a different way. They are in totally different genres. In the end, they both are/will be great :)

It is true that Jessica was the better singer, she had the range and just natural talent but Josha and Philipps were still great too. I think Phil won because of the fact that the majority of watch/vote are girls but nevertheless he was very artistic in his performances. They all sounded good. Jessica makes us Filipinos very proud but honestly Philipps is more close to my taste in music (i would still pick Jessica over). I think people shouldn't be hating because PP deserved the win anyway.

Phillip writes his own songs, re-does songs and makes them his own, has an enormous stage presents, connects with the crowd AND has a unique voice. Beyonce and and Mariah and the rest are artists, because they are original and make their own music and have their own voice. An artist is capable of bringing something to the table that is rare. Playing an instrument doesn't make you an artist :P

Phillip isn't a carbon copy of Dave Matthews. Just because they perform the same way doesn't mean they're the same person. Just like Jessica and Whitney Houston aren't the same person but the perform and sound almost identical. And "the whiter you are the better"? The top three were a Filipino girl, a Southern Caucasian boy, and an African American boy. Joshua and Jessica both perform the same way, that's why they both got kicked off. They didn't connect with the audience like Phillip did.

Jessica can sing huge songs that are known by many. But just like on Tuesday she sang a song that wasnt really known and she went flat. Yes, Jessica is an amazing singer with a great voice but that's all she is a singer. Phillip won because he is an artist and can take any unknown song and make you want to get up and dance. Nah! Judges made you think a J did! P2 hid how critically ill he REALLY was til after! Hid 100% his family founded Org MissionChange to feed the homeless P2 worked for since a kid. Met his gf 3yrs ago volunteering at a shelter! All of this made me even prouder that I voted for him based solely on talent! Great guy, big heart, superb values from a family who's been making a difference long before A-Idol was a ever a thought! More should be like him! Definition of American Idol? Definitely=P2 :-)

Phillip had been offered a recording contract by Jimmy Iovine and two other labels before (Home-coming week)! As his Dad stated on camera at that time. "He hadn't signed with anyone yet".. YaI know Christina is successful, but back in the late 90's-early 2000's when both were more active,Britney ws MILES ahead of her in terms of fame & popularity. 2. Katy Perry is really bad at live,so I wouldn't be saying she's better than any decent singer... Rihanna isn't that great either, but both of them are entertaining 4.
