I looked forward to this one. Coetzee is one of my faves. I’ve read almost all of his works

The Pole is set in the year 2015. A question is put to the reader in the 4th chapter, where do these people come from? Can they now be laid to rest? All year long they have been knocking at the door wanting to be let in. A book was published that year that may answer those questions. The Kreutzer Sonata Variations for the first time presents the responses of Leo Tolstoys' wife and youngest son to what they felt to be the personal affront of his story The Kreutzer Sonata. The son wrote a counter story, The Chopin Preludes. Here is our interpreter of Chopin. This is my reading and I admit it's a leap. Could you lay it to rest?
